Acrylic Pouring Blooms Technique Inspirational Tutorial Video.
paint pouring, the painted dreamer, abstract fluid art, shelee art style, no silicone, fluid acrylics, acrylic pouring techniques, fluid art tutorials, abstract acrylic pouring Art, Pour Painting, fluid painting, house paint art, swipes, blooms
In this video I wanted to have a little experimental fun with some eyeshadow pigments I picked up from my dollar tree. A lot of what you see being created on my channel when ready will end up in my Etsy store. Some pieces if they translate well to digital will also make it to my RedBubble and Society6 shops so if you see a design you like please check out my links below.👇🏻😊💜

Oh Wow, couldn't sleep so I saw this video Jodie and what a blast. Dollar tree or not, the composition is fantastic. It just goes to show your pouring medium is balanced so well everything flows so nicely. I loved this little tile. Even tho most of the purple faded that is a lovely color. I was hoping it would stay. The trial leads way to create the same color mixture with something more permanent. What's facinating is with the spins you get the Fibonacci and then when it stops you get the prize of the composition. I loved it.

It turned out very pretty! Mixed Media Girl suggested these for use in resin. Or any eye shadow; you can crush up ones that are solids. She also suggested nail polish; I think there was a particular type, but don't recall. You could also get plastic shower caps from the Dollar Store to put on your turntable. It's a small one and I'm sure they'd fit - it looked like about the right size. Thank you for sharing this!

Thanks so much Kathy! Oooh that’s a good idea, I love Mixed Media Girl! I haven’t tried the solid eye shadows yet but it’s on my list. Someone else told me you can put the eye shadow pigments into your paints to give them more bling too 😃 .. I’m curious about the nail polish. I think the plastic shower caps just might fit, I have a different shower cap (the type Karen from waterfall acrylics uses on hers from the dollar tree) but haven’t used it yet. I keep forgetting and grab the press n seal 😂! I’ll get there 😃💜🌺

I love using the dollar tree eye shadows. I have not made a single color from each shadow tho but will definitly give it a try! I use them to turn my plain colors into metallic n let me tell u they turn out gorgeous!!!!! My dollar tree has all the colors u used plus they have white copper n bronze. I just pour whatever paint I'm using into the cup then add whatever shimmer best matches the paint n they are so pretty n shimmery! Love them. Now an easier way to open the eyeshadow.....i use a punch tool n lightly hammer it into the bottom of the shadow deep enuf just so the punch can grip the lid (bottom) then it prys rite off. Sometimes the bottoms aren't real snug n u can just pry it off with a small flat head screwdriver. By the way...love ur techniques n paintings!!! Awesome color combos too. HAPPY NEW YEAR n happy painting😁😁

I never thought of putting them into paint, what a great idea now i have to try this! I hope my dollar tree gets more colors in, I think there was also a pearl white but no copper. I was however thinking about getting eye shadow palettes and chopping them up next as another experiment! Have you tried that? The L.A. Colors trios are good; they are highly pigmented and the pallette with blue and green is spectacular. I wouldn't bother with the 12 pan. They are 90% chalky and colourless.

I have some and wanted to try it myself but haven’t as yet. I thought they might be nice mixed in with a similar color paint to give it more of a shine. I may try it that way.As to getting them open, my son took a pointed thing like a screwdriver and cracked the seams apart. It wasent easy but you get it all out.
@ThePaintedDreamer
@ThePaintedDreamer 3 жыл бұрын
They are a bit more subtle than other pigments but I loved that about them and when it’s resined or varnished there is a nice soft sheen to them. You can totally mix them into a paint color to give more of a sheen. I haven’t tried it as of yet but know others that have. After filming this video I figured out if you stick a screw driver down in the hole (do this over a bowl) and then tap lightly with a hammer the bottom pops right out 😃

Saw a video last night where $tree eyeshadows were used by a guy in an experiment with resin. Some colors he used more pigment to make a deeper color. Try that with pink n purple.

Thanks so much Lynne! I really loved it too before the spin and didn’t want to touch it but if you don’t take off some of the paint you run the risk of it cracking while drying because there’s too much paint but I’m going to have to experiment with this!! Haha! 😃💜💜

Very nice painting! I'm going to try this kind of pigment. Thanks for sharing :) . Once I had used pearl ex pigments directly to my PM and it produced that pastel color, which does not resemble the color we see when the pigment is dry. Then I used retarder before putting on my PM and it kept the original color. I believe that, if you put retarder before mixing with the PM, you will keep the original colors and they will shine as they shine in their container.
@ThePaintedDreamer

Thank you so much! I’ll give the retarder a try and see if that helps these pigments. I don’t normally with others as they mix up well but yea these did pale pretty good .. thanks for the tip!! 😃💜

@@ThePaintedDreamer I’m not sure about the result that you are going to have but I think that it could work. I believe that is because the other pigments that you use, are not mica pigments. I’m not sure but I believe the primary elements and piggys are dry paint and pearl ex pigments and make up are mica powders and they work differently. We'll see! :)

Hi, I’m a subscriber and watch a lot of your videos. I think we’re in the same area too 😁. I use your recipes and I have a question. When I mix my paints up I usually let them set overnight. When I get ready to use them and open the containers it seems as though I need to stir them some and when I do I get a lot of bubbles. Is that common?
@ThePaintedDreamer
@ThePaintedDreamer 3 жыл бұрын
Hi and welcome!! Oh nice, are you in the Chicago area too?! Regarding your paint mixes, it’s totally normal that they may separate a little the longer they sit, just be careful when re-stirring them so you don’t create a lot of bubbles just stick the stirrer in and slowly stir to incorporate and maybe tap the whole container on the counter to pop any bubbles and let them sit like 5-10 minutes before using and that should get rid of most of them. 😃
