1985 8th grade memories of 102.7 FM, WBMX...Oak Park, Chicago...Saturday Night Live Ain't No Jive Hot Mix Dance Party with the Hot Mix 5 DJs!!! Many special mix tapes were made that year every weekend all over Chicago!! 👍🏿😁🎶🎵

Alisha just SOUNDED hot; you didn't even have to see what she looked like to know she was hot. Also this song reminds me of riding around on my bike listening to my Walkman. Definitely Walkman music!

This sounds very similar to Madonna's Into The Groove. Such a shame it never entered the top 40 in the U.K. I'd have bought the record otherwise and loved it!!!!

Alisha did not go mainstream like Madonna went.

Alisha had some disadvantages - she was only 15/16 at the time and had just a handful of songs. Promo was harder for her, young and shy.. Lots of other reasons factor in but I'll let those be interpreted however people want.

@@5ammusic Other "disadvantages" of Alisha were due to the few pretensions of turning her into a sex symbol as Madonna was, she was rather the disco version of Debbie Gibson or Tiffany, she also did not have the publicity machinery that Madonna already had after the release of Like a Virgin and after the premiere of the movie Desperately Seeking Susan. On the other hand, it is striking that after the premiere of the film, the song Into the Groove was made the final mixes and part of the musical arrangements were modified to officially launch it to the market and that it did not have an official soundtrack, although perhaps it is due to the short time that the film was made and the post production.

Back in the 80's if Madonna were runnin for Pres. She would have Won it, Madonna's Career was based on SEX and it worked for her it sold Madonna was doin all of things that Alisha wasn't doin but...i have Alisha's singles🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
