Hi. Have a 2007. 135k miles. Rough shifts, especially when cold, and mainly slamming into reverse. No codes. Replaced the solenoid pack, fluid, filter, and gasket. Magnet in pan was clean. Still have the same probs. Have only driven about 10 miles. Will it get better? Any suggestions? Sorry I’m so late to the party. Thanks!

Hi Gary I got the head gaskets fixed what a pain lots of special tools. I took the truck for a drive today after making sure all the codes were erased and the the battery had been out for 2 weeks as well. I spliced into the violet and yellow wire pin 3 at the trans connector used a test light and It stayed on the whole time but light dimed when going into 5th or torque lockup not sure witch also used a meter had 13.5 volts the whole time through all shifts till it went into 5th or lockup then it went down to 0.40 and occasionally fluctuating down to 0.04 a couple times 2 in an hour of driving. When I let off the gas it returns to 13.5 volts then goes back down to 0.40 volts most of the time in high gear only. same codes noted after erasing everything. Am I missing something PO743 TCC solenoid circuit malfunction PO750 A/T Shift solenoid 1/A circuit malfunction PO755 A/T Shift solenoid 2/B circuit malfunction PO765 A/T Shift solenoid 4/D circuit malfunction I saw your video on reworking the Solenoids do you think that would help I do have the wiring workbook and truck workbook now. Is there a way to electrically check the Solenoids Electrical not a strong point of mine. Thanks for all your help

This is all on pin #3 with the voltage fluctuating? Im going to check a wiring diagram, if it happening on pin 3, i dont think that should be happening, that is supply voltage. whats the year make and model again?

Hi Gary hope everything's going good with you I pulled the pan off just wanted to check if someone had not put the magnet in the filter pickup hole. No just to up date ya there was no signs of metal what so ever in the pan The solenoid pack solenoids had been reworked at some point the caps were left off. should those screws be within a thousand or two of each other? I took pictures but no way to post here. Just a quick question is there anything I can remove & check out now that the pan is off? She hasn't the money to fix the computer till next month

Thanks for posting your videos I watched all you have on the 5R55S transmissionI hope you don't mind a question. Would you be able to give me some insight on this issue. My daughter bought this truck yesterday there is no engine light or o/d light with the key on! I suspect the bulbs have been pulled in order to sell the truck. I hope you don't mind if I ask a question. Is there a commonality having all these codes at the same time. some eradiate shift problems just starting out seemed like its in 3rd gear starting out happened twice yesterday in a hundred mile drive otherwise the rest of the time it shifts and drives just. Is there something I can check? Checked fluid level clean and full. I didn't quite understand what you were getting at with the power wire Issue you were talking about. This one has the TTC on fuse 37 fuse is not blown.2003 ford explorer 4.0L sohc gas got these codes PO743 TCC solenoid circuit malfunction PO750 A/T Shift solenoid 1/A circuit malfunction PO755 A/T Shift solenoid 2/B circuit malfunction PO765 A/T Shift solenoid 4/D circuit malfunction Thanks for any Help.

No problem, im here to help. These are all electrical codes. Good job checking fuse #37, next step would be to unbolt the electrical connector to check for corrosion. If by chance no corrosion, you would have to monitor the wire(fuse 37 wire) and see if you loose power when the codes set. I've seen connector issues, wiring issues and even computer issues when multiple codes set.
@Cattlerest7 жыл бұрын
Great Thanks For the help I will do that First thing. If no corrosion delete the codes and see if they reset and check fuse I guess I need to get the bulbs in for the check engine and OD spots if in fact that is why they are not working so I will know if it throws a code. Thanks again for the help
@GaryFerraro7 жыл бұрын
The way to tell if the bulbs are there is to turn the key to position 2 and see if they light up. To unbolt the solenoid pack is a little tricky, I think its a 10mm bolt head, i use a stubby wrench to unbolt it. Gary Thanks for watching, please subscribe
@Cattlerest7 жыл бұрын
No warning light or O/D light when the key is turned to position 2 you bet I will subscribe. So I will get the bulbs checked after I check the connecter.WE really appreciate the help.

I drive and 08 4.0 mustang, my OBD says every shift solenoid is throwing a code, but it goes in reverse, and drives in 5th gear I can go all the way to 115 so it's not limp mode, could it be bad slenoids or fluid ?

Are the servo bores easy to identify if they are bad. Mine look ok. Is there a test or measurement?
@GaryFerraro7 ай бұрын
You have to look at them, if worn there may be a step in the bore. If good they will be smooth no rough spots, they do wear out common problem

Hi Gary Ran it again this morning same thing covered all connections no possibility of grounding out the connection to the volt meter under the truck. Voltage drop at 42 MPH and (consistent) same as yesterday drove it at 60 mph volt meter hooked up stays at 0.40 until I step on the brake or accelerate the gas as in passing still some fluctuating after 42 happen twice it the hour drive shifting is sometimes hard sometimes soft I saw no connection or loss of voltage with shifting hardness. However what I read it may take a while for the computer to learn the shifts again. I really don't know that's just what the manual said .Appreciate any help on what to check next Thanks again Byron
@GaryFerraro7 жыл бұрын
Byron, Ok what i think is going on here is your on the wrong wire, you are on the TCC(torque converter clutch) that is pin #14 same wire color as pin #3. Pin #3 comes right off a fuse, shouldnt loose voltage. Being the fact you said that when you release the gas the voltage comes back, thats tcc control.
@Cattlerest7 жыл бұрын
Ok got it. Attention to detail Oh wow I feel like an idiot; Ill take a look Gary Thanks. Your right I didn't see the need to pull the connector off sorry I didn't realize there could be same wire colors there. Well let me get at it and ill let ya know how it goes Thanks a million Byron

I changed my pack but now it's now reversing. What can be the issue? I used 8 quarts of oil but once I remove to see if it's going to be a overflow there's no flow so could it be it need more fluid?

Hey, i have ford explorer 2010 which is having some transmission issues showing code P0748 and P0960. any suggestions usually these codes comes because of harness or solenoid. I have tried changing the wire between pin 3 on connector side and pin 11 on pcm side. But still codes are persistent.

Ok, now may come the tricky part, its kinda hard to see, exactly what it is, you could either continue with the diagnosis by getting access to the computer and ohming the solenoids when they fault or start by changing out the solenoid block(i change them often during rebuilds), the fact that these codes all set at once could be the lead frame of the solenoid pack is bad or possible computer. Ive seen once solenoids, ive seen computer, and ive seen harness connector to the solenoid pack. Do you know where the computer is on this car, if not i can look it up for you, it may pay to check that connection
@Cattlerest7 жыл бұрын
I checked the harness connector to the solenoid pack its good I do have dealer work book on wiring and repair so yea I know were the computer is behind the glove box. Ill pull that computer connection and inspect the condition of it first its in the engine bay. I know what wires the solenoids are on at the computer connector there all 4 in a in a row on the outside edge easy to get to. It would be nice to know if the computer is or is not the problem first if that is possible. Ill pull the connector at the computer and get it checked out. Ill let ya know what I find.Thanks Gary Byron
