Hey Bigg Matt, just found your video here. I own this tape deck, and it was in storage for 14 years. I dragged it home, (because I needed it all of a sudden), and the only thing I had to do to it, was replace the belts. That was it, and it works great. I saw all those reel decks in the background in your video. Now, I'll have too look to see what you have for sale. I am not opposed to driving to Charlotte for a pick-up. (Although, the traffic there is a nightmare). LOL

I have been thinking about getting a reel to reel lately & discovered your channel, very interesting & a wonderful looking collection! I had a Allied Radio reel to reel (I know nothing special) ages ago in high school. I watched your video on the Realistic TR3000 from a while back. Radio Shack bought out Allied Radio many years ago. Looks like a well built affordable machine. I subscribed to keep up on the ones you restore & put up for sale & hope to add to my limited knowledge of the equipment. Thanks for having this chanel.

Hey Big Matt, I have a couple of questions for you. You may find this interesting as a Tech. I'm working on a x-2000r. I've never worked on one of these before. I aligned the audio levels but then the left channel dropped lower. I adjusted the output pots to bring it up. It messed the expected voltages at the test points but whatever. It was late. I came in this morning now the left channel is higher than the right. I might have found it but it's weird. I tapped on the rear board while recording and monitoring the tape. The levels will stick up higher or lower like a dirty speaker relay. The only relays I see on the board are apparently for the capstan motor! K30,K31. Have you ever seen that? I don't understand it. The little red ones on the audio board don't react when tapped. Thanks for your videos!
