Alexis’ getup is literally Mongolian Yetti. Hilarious as always. She must have been baking in that costume. The Amanda plot line was as soapy as it gets. Oxenberg couldn’t really act but she was very articulate and stunningly beautiful. The script with her character became ludicrous and bizarre.

Interesting how Alexis says she didn't have the means back then to raise a child and yet she had the money to pay her cousins to "run her household".

If the writers wanted Amanda to be the child of both Alexis and Blake, the easiest thing to say would be that they had conceived Amanda shortly before Blake found Alexis in bed with Roger Grimes. That way Alexis could say that after she left Denver, she realized a month or so later that she was pregnant, but wasn't certain who the father was (either Blake or Roger). Either way, she worried if Blake found out about the new baby, he'd take her away from Alexis (possibly even regardless if it was his child or not). That would justify Alexis hiding Amanda all these years, and why she would insist that Blake wasn't Amanda's father: Alexis was madly in love with Roger Grimes, so she probably nursed the fantasy that Amanda was their love-child. But a simple blood test proves that Amanda truly is a Carrington. And there'd be no, "It was a ski instructor!" "There was no ski instructor!" "There were SEVERAL ski instructors!" "I'll bet!"

Yes her acting was maybe to put it politely not the best but she was stunningly beautiful. I once worked at Claridges in Mayfair & she was visiting her mother the Princess of Yugoslavia & she truly was in real life breathtaking beautiful 👌.

It is easy to see Amanda can't act, her her voice, her tone, her movements, it's amateurish, it's like she is practicing, reading, before her final act. It's just so unreal, you see the act but no character, soul. She is just like a robot

watched this show as a kid n recall this episode....might have been distracted n the magnitude Christina's statements never registered...ummm...well no they do...this has to be the dumbest storyline i have ever watched.....she has called the wrong women mother for my entire life...WTF?...implausible what women with the slightest maternal instincts is in the same house has her child listening to her call another women mommy...this was a leap n a huge one....they cld have done better...

Catherine Oxenberg sure had a lot of charisma and I understand why they cast her as Amanda due to her exquisite looks, but oh my god her acting was absolutely abysmal. I can't take her seriously at all with these ridiculous prononciations and inflections. "You've had yeeeeers knowing I was your daughta."

She was truly the worst actress I ever saw on tv back then. I couldn't stand any scenes she was in. I was a huge fan of the show and she ruined it for me. They ended up replacing her but it was too late. Damage was done
