Good video. I have to do mine and have watched everything I can to pickup tips. Yours was the most informative. Wish I had a lift, looks like I'll be losing my religion.

Lift definitely makes it much easier. Just get it as high as you can on jack stands and take your time. It’s not really difficult but aggravating for sure. Thanks for commenting and watching.

@@AutomedicGarage it's up on ramps, makes the engine mount bolts tougher to get to but I've got room. So much rust that radiator bracket bolts are rusted tight. Gonna be a couple of days job but I'm not going anywhere.

Good luck trying this on a 6.7. Cab and engine have to be pulled. I'm keeping my bullet proofed 6,0 forever. Thank you for the great vid.

Nah, I replaced the upper pan on a 2017 6.7. You have to remove the trans and then the upper and lower will come right out. No cab or engine removal necessary

Y’all must live far from the rust belt because that truck looks pretty darn clean underneath, besides the oil pan. I defiantly envy you mechanics down there is mechanics don’t have it so easy up here!

That truck was from Ohio it had its share of rust compared to our southern trucks with zero rust. But you are correct being a mechanic down here is much less aggravating.

having done this myself, on my back in the driveway . . . and no preparing to go through some of these steps again . . . I wholeheartedly recommend . . . Change the cooler lines while you are there

They aren’t bad to replace. Never had one have problems with the trans lines anyways.

Can you help me with the roundabout toque specs for the upper and lower pans and drain plug? Round about is fine. Love ur video thank you! I’m a beginner but I’ve taken on some big jobs and was able to git r done because of in depth videos like yours! God bless! More 6.0 repair videos please!

10ft lbs or 120 inch lbs

Excellent job guys will it work for the rear drive truck also will all the cooler lines at the rad flex enough as the engine raises

Yea pretty much same procedure for 2 or 4 wd trucks. You only have to raise the motor about a 1.5” to get the job done

Hey guys! Just used your video here to do my own upper an lower pan. Mine took 7 hours on my back. Lol! Thank you very much for the confidence to tackle that job. It’s an intimidating job. Wish I had jacked up the motor FIRST to get the pan bolts out. But, it went well. I’m wondering if you would tell me the torque specs you used. I used 10 ft/lbs on the upper and lower pan bolts. But, get conflicting specs on motor mount nuts. I did 50 lbs but they’re 3 parts to the mounts and I may not be reading them right. Thanks guys and keep up the great work!!!

10 ft lbs is correct or 120 in lbs. I don’t torque the motor mounts I just give it a couple bumps with the impact. Thanks for watching.

Im from ny and when i tell you that truck is not bad! We get some fn heaps come in! But once you learn how to fix old rusty trucks u have a huge line of work cause no 1 wants to do it! Everyone just wants the cake work of brakes oil changes and tires!

Hi , does the pan comes with the gaskets , am about to do mys , but i cant find the gaskit kit on line

Does not come with a gasket kit. The Felpro gaskets I used and part numbers are in the video as I install them. Thanks for watching.

So I've done everything up to jacking the motor up to slide the oil Pan out, on my 05 F450 when I go to jack up the motor the front end lifts too, any suggestions?

Did you remove or loosen both upper and lower nuts for the motor mounts on both sides of the engine cradle?

Yes slightly more difficult on 2wd because of the I beams.

I have a 05 f350 with a burnt pin 4 on the X3 connector, I had a strange miss at idle at random from time to time but never anything other than idle, what would cause that ?

Are you referring to your sct x3 or pin 4 on your FICM plug?

@@AutomedicGarage pin 4 on the front connector on the ficm, the ficm was missing the bushings and one of the front studs to hold it in

@@98fishingfool possibly a poor connection. FICM shouldn’t be flopping around and I bet the connectors are missing some of the locking tabs.

What are the torque specs on the aluminum plate, oil tube and oil pan?

Bed plate/upper pan is 10 ft lbs or 13 Nm same for lower oil pan

I thought there were 5 long bolts. 4 in the location you stated and one more in the corner on the passenger side

I don’t recall the 5th bolt by memory, I’d have to look.

@@tim556 there’s only 4 on every 6.0 oil pan I’ve done. Maybe yours had a longer bolt on that corner. Thanks for letting us know.
