6.0 POWERSTROKE OIL PAN RESEAL! FIXING A MAJOR LEAK!

In this episode we reseal the oil pan on The Daily! Oil pan, upper oil pan, and pickup tube reseal. I go through the whole process showing trucks and tips to do this with the engine in the truck! Still a pain! All the seals and gaskets you will need are defined in the video!

I remember going to the city on a 03 6.0 I purchased a few months earlier and the radiator was leaking. Well I was expecting quite a bit of work to replace it so I yt how to replace a radiator and it was a dt Ron video I happen to click on Needless to say I was so happy I did cause the job was cake and a fast fix to boot. Rip dtr will be missed. Another thing is left lane is another one of my fav KZfaqrs good job

Have a very slow drip that developed I’m gonna check those sensors tomorrow and hope that’s the case I just did the injectors and am hoping I don’t gotta do another big thing although I will😂

Maybe half a cup of oil. I let it drain all night. But definitely some still sitting in the bottom.

I appreciated the How-To video but I was hoping to see how you change the PickUP tube O ring and the Crank Sensor O ring. My guess is it must be fairly easy.

I removed everything you said but the engine still doesn't want to come up. It keeps lifting the entrie front end of the truck. My truck has two alternators with dual Serpentine belts and I wonder if that has something to do with the engine not coming up.

Bro i have a 6.0 with 250 thousand miles and i have about 5 bolts that have backed out in the front of the lower oil pan.

It's a windage tray. Not a upper pan.

Awesome video....so have a question is the EGR valve ment to close right up on the seats ...truck won't excelerate it bogs out but when u get it going its good until u just coast along then it puts out black smoke only things I haven't done is change out the BPS sensor..

Yes! If it doesn’t seat perfectly closed, it will cause issues!

@@ncut5547 if it is an early truck with a throttle valve, try unplugging it and see what happens as well. Sometimes the throttle valve is faulty and makes it seem like a sticky or non sealing egr valve.

When you do it with out taking the engine out are there any issue to be mindful of? A shop quoted me 6k because they said the engine had to come out and be flipped to avoid the crankshaft from moving/falling. Thanks I’m trying to decide what I’m going to do with my leak.

That would only happen if resealing the bed plate. The oil pan and upper oil can be resealed without pulling the engine.

I expected someone to ask this question. As you know I just bought the truck, and I want to get everything squared away properly. So now I know the truck may need a couple injectors. That will be a perfect time to switch to Schaeffers when the new injectors go in. Great question!

Does anybody here recommend buying a 6.0 2003 with 200k miles in Great shape out and in.... for 10k? I don't know much about these trucks other than the bad reputation they have
