In the above to calculate we have single value of Torque. But when a Shaft is subjected different Torque across the length, then we need to Calculate single value of Torque I.e. equivalent Torque by using Equivalent Torque equation. Now this single value of Equivalent Torque can be used to find Diameter

Ok then just you need to check material properties of a shaft that you want to design. And get the details like how much power shaft is going to transfer ( From motor specifications) Now you have Syt Sut and Power. Calculate Tau = Syt/fs And Cal Mt from Power Use Mt/J= Tau/R Where J = Pi/32 d^4 And get the value of d from above equations
