Do not pre fill filters without plugging center hole, does more engine damage the leaving it empty

Big mistake was made. Your ticking noise was your front pump cavetating. Might’ve been a built 6R140 but now it’s definitely worn in. You needed to add that fluid as SOON as the truck was fired up, one quart at a time shifting between adding. I’d expect this transmission to be needing a rebuild again soon.
