@justtimfixinchit3369 have a 2000 7.3l since new. Never been opened. It's towed it's entire life, heavy. Just under 200k on it. Been a good unit. Recently turned it into a service truck.

I do believe these days a lot of the problems with Most any truck , vehicle if the oils get changed regularly it would help about 75 percent of most failures!

Problem with that is so many manufacturers are pushing out service dates, here in the uk a lot of the peugeot group big vans go like 25,000 miles before it’s first service!

Why dosent Ford and others auto manufactures stop sending the engine sewage (CCV) back through with the filtered cold air to mix with the finely metered air-fuel ratio going into the combustion chamber causing poor combustion and making emissions worse clogging up the intake and putting carbon on the injectors and the valves and pistons lowering HP and MPG? That is just my take how ever I elect not to

I’ve don’t a little bit of research on a ccv reroute, but it sounds like just putting it to atmosphere isn’t enough. I heard they need some sort of vacuum to pull enough pressure out of the engine. Is this true and what’s your opinion one rerouting?
@kirbywinters1291
@kirbywinters1291 Жыл бұрын
I will tell you this, on my 7.3 Powerstroke I had it vented to the atmosphere for several years and the truck used oil. I put it back to stock and it stopped using oil. The CCV filter on. 7.3 is pretty easy to clean and service.

On the 6.7. Yes it is best to have vacuum. Especially when pulling a load.

I thought that style CCV filter didn’t need to be replaced. Please enlighten me. I am now wondering if I need to change mine I do not have the one with the screws on top, but I do have the one that has the round top or the convexed top.

Yes you have to change unless you want your truck to have blow by and start leaking oil

Why aren’t they putting cleanable catch cans on these trucks, instead? Seems like it would be much easier to maintain a rinse out every oil change, than buildup and costly parts like this… Thanks, Ford?

@masonjohns208 if you have to change the filterless one every 60 thousand, I may as well keep the one with the filter in it and change it every oil change.

What about the part number EF18A that is on my 2022 F450? It is different than the sealed unit on my 2017 but it is not the replaceable type where the entire top comes off. Only part of the top comes off and I can't find any info on it. Thanks!

People need to quit doing the oil change when the percent gets down to 0. Set the trip and change it every 5-6k , epa tells manufactures to bump up the oil change intervals. No crazy new tech is making oil last longer
