Hair is similar to fragrance regarding seasonality. Certain fragrances work better in cooler months than warmer months and vice versa. Fresher and lighter fragrances are better suited for hot temperatures. Hairstyles are similar. Some hairstyles are appropriate for cooler months because you can use more hair product. However, in summer, if you use a lot of hair product in the heat, your hairstyle can melt and look bad.
Buzz cut. Unfortunately, this style only works amazingly on a few dudes. About 15 to 20% of guys look great in this because the head shape needs to be relatively symmetrical. Also, big and pointy ears don't look good with a buzz cut. A strong jawline looks great if you remove the hair, but if you have a weak face or chubby cheeks, this haircut will accentuate the roundness and fullness of your face. If you have strong eyes or other strong features like a great smile or structured nose, high cheekbones, or a rugged & sexy jaw, you look amazing with the buzz cut. It's low maintenance and doesn't require a lot of product. A buzz cut looks better when slightly faded. Pairing it with facial hair looks incredible. Also, pairing it with badass frames elevates the aesthetic.
French Crop or Caesar. These styles are similar in that they have a lot of texture, a bit of front fringe, and fade on the sides. This style is perfect for the summer. You don't want to use a lot of product, but Texture Powder is the hottest product out there for styling this because it gives you volume while looking like you haven't used any product. Even in the hot sun, you will maintain volume and texture. Texture Powder is light and fresh without weighing your hair down or making it look oily or greasy.
Side Part. This style is an old-money aesthetic that works for every guy. Try different options for this hairstyle. You could go super tight and slick, which is not recommended for the summer due to the necessity of pomade. For summer, opt for a lighter version with a bit of volume on top. Add some side bangs or fringe. Letting the sides grow out also looks awesome. A fade is also appropriate.
Flow. This style is one of the sexiest out there and works perfectly for the summer because you don't need a lot of product. It allows you to grow out your hair and push it back off your face. You can have a little bit of side action or some type of bangs or curtains. Let your hair do what it wants. It's not super polished, but many variations and options exist. You need to use product, or your hair will be flat. The hairstyle looks so good because it has volume and a bit of piece-y separation. Use a pre-styler such as Sea SALT Spray. Add a bit of light styling product like Paste or Clay to give it a bit of richness and texture. Texture Powder also works to add volume.
Messy Curls. If you have curly or wavy hair, you're in luck. This style is one of the sexiest options out there. Allow your hair to grow and be natural. It's a perfect summer option because it's light & fresh and allows your hair to do what it wants.
Slickback. This style is old-school money and is sexy as hell. You need a product that has a high hold and low shine. After showering, use a high-hold, low-shine product like Soft Putty. Emulsify it and apply. Comb straight back and use a hair dryer to set it in place. It doesn't work on everybody, however. If you have a round face, it doesn't look as good. Remember to choose a hairstyle that compliments your face shape and accentuates your positive features while minimizing perceived negatives. If your face is round or if you have chubby cheeks or a weak chin, do not take the texture and dimension away from your hair. If you have an oval-shaped or diamond face, if you have more hollow cheeks, or if you have strong bone features, you can try frames like Wayfarers or Clubmasters. These are perfect for the slickback style.
