Yes, a super model having a wardrobe malfunction in the background while you fix the winch might improve numbers but short of that maybe sharing more of your personal life. That is what Delos, Vagabond etc. do. Not everyone likes to share that much. Video snips from your extensive background. Brag a little. I am sure you have had some adventures that seems normal to you but would be a scary insight for a landlubber….I love the tech and repair stuff immensely!

Hey Daniel, I think you’re right and I literally had this conversation with my partner last night. It is dawning on me as I take this KZfaq voyage more and more seriously that I need to share more about myself in these videos and more about my sailing experiences to date. I’ve done (and messed up!) a lot of crazy sailing things in the past that could be interesting but, on reflection, I have just always carried too much of the pro captain mindset (ie ‘command distance’)with me into my YT work, never understanding that actually, this is a long haul relationship between creator & audience and it’s impossible to separate public and private, past and present without appearing weirdly two dimensional. Feedback received, I’m on it! And many, many thanks for the constructive feedback :)

Sailing is 90% carrying heavy things you paid a ridiculous amount of money for. Love this channel, keep ‘em comin.

absolutely right! I’m just about to show some of that when I repack the forepeak!

Looks similar to every pre-passage preparation effort I’ve experienced. Happy to know its not just me.

Funny how a small project on a boat always turns into a much bigger project!

Love the fact this is a practical sailing channel that shows the issues your are likely or in some cases have already faced. You need to remind folk about the notifications as well I thought you had stopped uploading content to the channel to find out that it wasn't set to alert me when you did, I wonder if that is the case with other. I have a 32ft sail boat with a pump out heads, an a disused holding tank which on a boat my size is a waste of space and a pain to remove, or at least it won't be removed in the next year anyhow, not keen to show that off lol

Hi Glen- thanks for revealing that! I will be showing soon what a scrub, a sand, and a quick coat of paint can do to remove the embarrassment of even looking in these spaces - on their own those things really are not enough to solve the problem entirely, but at least I have made a start and that of course is 2/3rds of getting the job done :)

God- that feels familiar! But- you're laughing? I'm almost totally bald from stress over those moments? Hahahaha. I'll subscribe as well- I feel ya brother!

Great video! Even the smallest of boat jobs ends up in what we call „boat explosion“ with every possible tool/spare out of the lockers. Great to see that it doesn‘t change no matter what size the boat is! :)

Tom, you are 100% correct BUT there is one important difference on bigger boats … the distances are longer, so when I start losing things and getting distracted I can easily hit my 10,000 steps per day just wandering around aimlessly :). Thanks for the comment !

I like this stuff the real world issues we all have with sailing and how a professional deals with them.

Thanks Carlos! It doesn’t matter if you have been sailing a year or a lifetime, boats still take great pleasure in throwing you curveballs.. just when you least expect it:)

Hi think your right to do short videos , since you don’t edit much ( I think) to much talking ‘talking head’ is not going to keep the watcher interested. ( show what your talking about not just your face, like you did with the winch video). Also try to stick to single subject and finish video. And be regular , the algorithm loves that . FYI sent you email about a mini 6.5 setting a NY to lizard benchmark record right now ! But weird storms in the mix too . Oh what boat are you on now? I’m Loosing track …. My fault not yours! Cheers warren

You could try wearing a bikini for the thumbnails, that'll draw the viewers!

it occurred to me to create a ‘cleavage deception’ thumbnail with the crook of my elbow squeezed together to appear breast-like.. but… it’s a slippery slope… and I fear what I might have to stoop to if it actually drew an audience…. :)
