Although I would love a Jenn podcast, I would hate for her focus to split and thus taking away from her KZfaq! She's producing quality and I think that has a lot to do with keeping her work manageable and not overdoing it!
@yuenath
@yuenath Жыл бұрын
@@suzifatke6902 i feel like if she did it on her extra "work time" or between creative cycles or "just because" like emma chamberlain, it would be successful for her!! because i would listen to her talk about anything and everything -- she's like an older sister!! maybe a good set of subjects would be for when she wants to dive deep into deep topics like life lessons

Only Jenn could make me want to read a textbook. "The Bottlenecks of the 21st Century" only has 3 reviews on Goodreads... a sleeper! Also, "Storyworthy" is one of my all-time favorite books after reading it from one of your recs! Sooo good. One of the books I bring up and recommend to others the most. Homework for Life has been a huge game-changer for me over the years

Thank you for sharing! I've read Storyworthy, but have since stopped doing my homework. This has inspired me to go back to it. The book I am currently reading, which I can already tell will be in the top 10 books I've ever read, is called Team of Rivals. It's about Abraham Lincoln, who was a master of seeing the potential in people and building teams who could accomplish incredibly difficult tasks. It has radically changed the way I think about leadership and personal growth. I know you will enjoy it, Jenn!

I am binge-watching a lot of your videos. You are terrific at speaking. You don't use filler words. You pause using the word 'so' but it's a purposeful pause to collect your thoughts. It's addicting to listen to people who speak so eloquently. I haven't read a physical book in a while. I try to complete an audiobook per month. When I listen, I color, draw, do gentle yoga, or go on a walk. It's multitasking, but with my brain on autopilot so I can focus on the book. I am not an audio learner, but I find the way people speak during books readings striking. I admire it even more when the book is read by the author. However, I do need to get back into physical books.

Jenn- I always feel like when I see your video come up that it's time for me to pause whatever it is I am doing, sit down, enjoy and listen to you, and then resume my day. I think these books and the knowledge that you've gained from them are so easy to observe in your work. I always learn something new or experience a nice emotional connection when I watch your videos, and I think that's something specific to you as a creator. I'm excited to learn from these books as well.

If you’re reading, it’s fun 🤷🏽‍♀️ I typically read one “light” book and one less-light book at the same time; the substantive book is easier to get through and the lighter book feels less like fluff. I read faster that way, for some reason

What a great list! I am currently reading storyworthy and i totally agree with your reflections on homework for life. Ive only been doing it for a couple of weeks but its made me much more confident and helped me realise i have valuable experiences everyday. Im also recording one second of my life everyday for 2023 which is helping in a similar way. Ive recently read the alchemist which is a short story/fable about following your personal legend and little anecdotes about destiny. Bigger and better books on my bookshelf for 2023!! 😊😊

Got myself an e-reader for christmas because i wanted to reignite the love i once had for reading books! Had to stop because of my eyesight progressively getting worse when i was younger and looking back, it feels as if i lost a huge part of my identity. Additionally, i really want to broaden my perspective and learn new things. Just finished my first fiction read of the year and i absolutely loved it! I'm going back to all of your past book recommendation videos and this one to find my next read. Super excited to get back into reading!

Hi Jen! Thank you for keeping us curious. Your videos are always a go-to when I find myself in a reading rut. I highly recommend The Body Keeps Score - written by a psychiatrist, it talks about how the role of trauma in psychiatric illness has changed over the past 20 years; what we have learned about the ways the brain is shaped by traumatic experiences; how traumatic stress is a response of the entire organism and how that knowledge needs be integrated into healing practices. The author speaks to trauma survivors - think war vets and victims of sexual abuse - to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure. It is a wonderful piece of literature I highly recommend to everyone!
