1) Reframe the situation: Instead of you wanting the thing/opportunity/person, consider thinking how that thing is suitable for you, ask questions which'll make you calm and confident. 2) Be positive: Big smile, open gestures, give compliments and laugh a lot 3) Admit Emotions: Being positive and happy is all important but life includes many other emotions like nervousness, anxiety, sadness. And you must be open to share emotions which is attractive because other people can relate to you and consider you as their own. 4) Own your flaws: Related to the 3rd point. Owning your flaws shows others that you are also not perfect and have the courage to own your flaws/mistakes, which is a really attractive quality. 5) Tell sticky stories: Consider the hook and grab strategy. Start your story with something that draws the attention of others and then continue the story. 6) Make others feel special: Give genuine and honest compliments. Hold strong eyes contact. Smile. Open gestures. Have a great day!

As a teacher, I've been doing many of these automatically just by speaking from the heart, being open and honest, actually taking an interest in other people, and not being too afraid to look silly. These things help you connect with others. If you try too hard to be formal and look perfect, you come across as cold and robotic - then people will think you are weird or evasive. During my last job interview I was sharing a very emotional story about how I connected with a disabled student and helped her to create a wonderful project. While I was telling the story, my voice cracked a couple times and I had to fight back tears. They hired me on the spot. In fact, they almost begged me to please take the job.

Confidence in a nutshell: Be open with your emotions and improve your people skill.
@MosesPlays

It is fun watching these videos and be swept away by the wonderful personallities of the people they choose to depict. But basically what all of those videos are saying is: BE LIKE THAT GUY. Kinda hard being like that guy when you're not. Human nature,fast thinking,and charisma are natural born,cannot be taught. You can't be funny if you're not. Some people got it and some people don't. Just like your hair and eye color,and your hight or intelligence. I can confidently say that after watching about 50-60 of the most recent videos in this channel,my people skills have not improved one bit. Lovely channel nonetheless. And hey,if this helps you,than that's just great. If anything,pointing out how people act and breaking down their behaviour is a very interesting subject on its own that helps you recognize certain features of people in your own life that have said charisma,humor and commanding presence,and helps you observe with more insight some that may be dishonest or downright fraudulent. So,I'm not saying this channel is without value. There's that,outside of the obvious entertaining nature of the videos in this channel.

@@MosesPlays What did you expect? You say all you did was WATCH the videos...this stuff takes LOTS of PRACTICE and contant mistake fixing and adjusting. "Human nature, fast thinking, and charisma are natural born, cannot be taught" Is just a victim's way of saying "I do not have the drive to actually learn these things." With that mindset you will be stuck where you are forever. These videos helped me a ton, not because I simply watched them but because I took them to heart and still to this day make conscious efforts to keep them in mind. What I'm currently working on is making longer eye contact with people in my vulnerable moments.

Many stage actors have noted that it’s easier to nail an audition if they’re already in the middle of a current job. Having one job already makes seeking the next job feel lower stakes and therefore gives them a confidence which is critical to nailing an acting audition. This definetly applies to other types of situations. Feeling like you can get through it even if you don’t get this job because you have other potential offers or money saved can be huge.

Lessons I learnt from this video - *1. Reframe those situations that make you nervous* _If you feel pressured to perform and impress in a situation, make sure to ask some questions to know if you like them too. Like, you'd have notice how confident the interviewer is while interviewing. But when with your friends, you feel confident. Because you know your friends like you and you like them. This will reframe your mindset in that situation._ *2. Don't make plans solely to impress others. Make plan that'll be also interesting to you, giving you the opportunity to give your best(85%) in that situation.* *3. Be contagiously positive* _Just think about that, how you feel with a person who is highly positive and composed in __-roughest-__ toughest of situations_ *4. Give yourself permission to admit to emotion beyond happiness. People would find it easier to connect with you at deeper level.* *5. Own your flaw. Don't hesitate to talk about that.* _Just laugh when you mess up or make a mistake_ *6. Be a good Storyteller.* *7. Make the people around you special.* _Do not give compliment to act as a nice person. Just give what you genuinely mean._ _The best compliment can be what the other person really love, or what he/she's not so much complimented to but is good at_ *∞. Maintain Eye Contact while listening. But don't break it while talking.* _Having the full focus of the people you like feels more than amazing_

Big caveat: When you make plans to do something you enjoy so you feel more comfortable, like for a date, please use discernment. Think about what they want too. For example I went on a date and the guy wanted to show me all of these videos from this comedian he liked. It was him showing me a part of himself, but it went on and on and on. A big turn off and it felt more like him indulging himself than him thinking about me.

Hugh is honestly one of the special guys it’s very rare to see a person in the entertainment industry conduct himself with such grace and kindness The way he is with colleagues and especially fans , making them feel included and valued warms my heart A lot of people in the “biz” should look to him and take inspiration on how they conduct themselves , A true one off xxx

Great pointers to assess in yourself and in the people you like and admire. I'm thinking about a friend who is not smart, average-looking, and pretty shallow. But he's positive and appreciative of what he has -- and when he laughs, "the whole world laughs with him."

This is amazing, to see people help each other like this ...I'm a natural introvert with anxiety disorder. It took me years to learn how to connect with others. I wish I would have had videos like this. Half, but only half, of what is covered I already know to be true, and what's amazing, this opens the window into so many things am so happy to learn

God, I just love Hugh Jackman, and before he was even The Wolverine, my dad & mine's favorite character of all time. There was a time in my life, when I would watch Kate & Leopold three times a year just to feel good and find the strength to keep going. To this day, that is still my number one guilty pleasure film - every time I feel down or sense that I'm going to be depressed, I just don't think about it anymore, I immediately watch that film. And ever since, he (both Hugh & Leopold) has been my template of how to be a man, and especially, one rightful of a lady's. I haven't convinced my Kate to follow me back to my time & live happily ever after, granted, but I will get there eventually. Hugh Jackman makes me believe that it is possible. Wow, that was so hopeless romantic of me, but whatever. Thanks for being such a great inspiration, man!

Hugh Jacknan definitely knows how to connect. Whenever someone is genuinely interested in connecting the rest beautifully unfolds. Usually when I am interested the rest is interesting. Most of us if we’re being filmed or interviewed we will bring up a more charming self. I wonder Is that who we really are? I agree that eye contact is super important and supports connection with another human. We all can be a lot more charming if we hang out with people we enjoy being with. Blessings to all on this fun journey, Truth and Love to you 💝🙋🏻‍♀️

I think a few of Jack's attributes can be traced back to australian culture and society (or at least elements of it). In Australia we tend to be very open about our flaws and make fun of ourselves constantly for them (especially with mates). Its common place such that if you don't do it YOU'RE the odd one out.

Thank you Ben! I've been waiting for a breakdown on Hugh Jackman for forever! What an incredible guy (easy everyone's crush)! That lovely habit of making the people around him feel special has another effect imho: making himself "not so special at all", which makes easier for us to consider hmi as "a buddy of mine".

1. Be worth listening to - be your best you, it will lead to greater experiences. Do your best, etc, otherwise you're a joke.. 2. Forget yourself and listen to the other. If they need help moving the conversation, you've hopefully done #1 well enough to relate in some capacity through experience. 3. Who cares - be prepared to step at least slightly out of bounds of the conversation - why should you care what people think of you if you've done 1 and 2? Just remember, being a complete weirdo is different than not caring. People who don't care but are winning are very different than people who don't care who no one respects or understands.

It's hard keeping up with all these social ques and charismatic expressions just to make someone like you.
@EclipseXIV
@EclipseXIV 3 жыл бұрын
Doing it to make someone like you is usually the wrong approach, because you‘ll fully depend on the other person’s reaction and get demotivated very quickly. If you do it to improve how YOU feel in social interactions, you‘ll enjoy the process and be able to focus on one thing at a time with more ease. Building YOUR confidence and authenticity is key!

@@woodsprite5 Pretty much. I can start conversations from nothing and keep them going. I can make people laugh until they cry. People tell me that they love my sense of humor and act excited when I'm around. Coworkers will say they'll miss me when one of us moves on and to "stay in touch." So why do I always feel so alone? My texts are ignored, people I thought were my friends won't speak to me anymore. Relationship after relationship seem to fall apart out of nowhere for me. I'd understand just drifting apart sometimes, but it's always so spontaneous.

I loved the extra tips on how to make our compliments more effective. Another reason those work so well is because of Hugh's body language. Ben mentioned how good his eye contact is, which is true and their video on Bill Clinton goes more in-depth still, but I wanted to add two things: focus and intent. Hugh's full attention is focused on whoever he is speaking to. It's not just his eyes, but his whole body turns to face the person. You can see him leaning forward sometimes when listening, letting the other person know they are being heard. Then leaning back once he has made a point. However, always, when speaking to one person, Hugh is facing them with all his body, all his focus, and attention. Unlike we might see from "The Cool Type" as Robert Downey Jr. does.
