6-Day Travel Itinerary in the Maldives on the local islands of Maafushi and Dhigurah (+Cost)

Hey everyone, end of March 2024, we travelled to the Maldives. This was a last-minute trip, so we didn’t organize much nor look too much into the Maldives.
We visited 2 public islands, Dhigurah and Maafushi. We opted for public islands because we weren’t willing to put a 1000€ or so per night to stay in a luxury and private island.
Both islands we visited were really different. And while there, we learnt some great tips and this Maldives Itinerary is not following what we did but what rather what we would recommend doing after being there.
We spent 6-day in the Maldives and with this updated itinerary it would be the perfect amount of time and the best way to budget the Maldives while still being able to experience the real Maldives.
So, if you too are planning a trip to the Maldives, then we hope that you find this video useful.

There isn't many tour agencies on the island. The easiest would be to ask your accommodation or host, they would be able to organise whatever you need. Or check on google based on what you want to do directly.

Danke! Wir fliegen im Juli auch nach Dhigurah für eine Woche.Welche der Touren würden Sie uns empfehlen? Wir können nicht tauchen. So das wir ohne Tauchen was sehen könnten. V.G.

There are many things that you can do in Dhigurah without diving. If you want to see coral reef, fishes and turtle, you can try the turtle point. But globally, you can snorkel from any parts of the long bikini beaches of Dhigurah. The lagoon side (right side being the best). After, if you want to do tours, you can consider the Whale Sharks + Manta tour, it is only snorkeling and this tour is really close to Dhigurah. There are also other tours to do like the Nurse sharks but it is further away from Dhigurah and will cost more.

All of the restaurants we went to were serving beer but only the Alcohol free one.

Any of the company in Maafushi is offering to drop you in Dhigurah at the end of the whale shark tour. We asked a few of them there as well as hotels and they were all offering it.
