6 Days of searching in the Scottish Highlands, Day 5

On Day 5 we finally managed to get over to the Cairngorm National Park, some 79 miles away from Bridge of Orchy where we have been using a Hut as a base camp for our searches
On this search we are searching for missing hiker Ross Kinghorn aged 57 that went missing on the 16th January 2023 on the Beinn a' Gholo mountain range, Forest of Atholl, Scotland

so basically you think he most likely over exhausted himself and run out of day light, and his camping kit wasnt with him? i just recently hiked from blair atholl to kingussie after finishing rob roy way. and day from a bothie(thats where is saw the leaflet about Ross) was challenging, after taking a hill i descended in moorland with bogs and barely visible path. i was navigating mostly with Hiiker app, which helped me a lot in this tough terrain. it was along the river mostly.

@@vvs3796 The day in question when Ross disappeared was the same day I was in the Oykle Bridge area fighting blizzards that were knee deep within a few hours. This when the forecasters gave an amber warning of 3-4 inches of snow in the high areas of Scotland. That same deep snow hit the Cairngorms during the day when Ross would have been hitting the second Munro summit, but the snow was far worse, much deeper and drifting. At 4pm I was recording temps of minus 9 Celsius with windchill around minus 12. I was lower than Ross would have been so I can only imagine the temps up on the Munros. With no kit, no shelter or sleeping bag, exhausted in that weather and those temps how long can you last ? Worse, it got dark around 4pm on that day. Ross was apparently seen heading from the second Munro to the third Munro around 3pm. It would have taken a good hour to get up there because the person that saw Ross spoke to him briefly and they said he looked exhausted.
