LateWake Music not all people want you know the power of the rode t1 at its price makes it harder for them to sell the mics at a higher price range most people got to be smart money wise not spending lots of money on a mic if not needed when u can pay bills n feed your belly or even get some other toy like a bike or something els that tickles your fancy

@@davidmarley8387 Nah the Rode NT1 is great. It would have been more convincing if you said it isn't exactly a do-it-all mic because of its single polar pattern (not sure if the other mics here on the list are actually multi-patterned though)

I have the Shure KSM32, Miktek MK-300 and Audio Technica AT4040 here. All are great mics but I tend to use the MK-300 or KSM32 for general duties. These sound very different to each of and cover a wide range of sources. The Miktek MK-300 has a flattering voicing that has a smooth presence boost in the highs and big sounding lows without sounding boomy. The KSM32 has a flatter frequency response and sounds darker overall but works great on bright or harsh sources. It’s also great on drum overheads and classical recordings.

I own the KSM32, Miktek MK-300 and an AT4040 which is very similar to the 4033. All are capable of great results and get a lot of use here. I tend to prefer the MK-300 and KSM32 for vocals but they sound very different. The MK-300 is definitely brighter and works great on some vocals. The KSM32 works better on more strident vocalists where you need a smoother high end.

What mic would u recommend to record classical strings instruments, where we want to capture ambiance?
@sweetwater
@sweetwater 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Leo, this is a great question! The Shure KSM32 mentioned in this video would be a great choice: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KSM32SL--shure-ksm32-large-diaphragm-condenser-microphone-champagne It has a tamer high end, meaning it won't emphasize the string noise of the string instrument which can sometimes sound harsh through a microphone. To capture the ambience a little more, I would experiment with how far you place the mic from your instrument. The further away, the more room you hear. The closer it is, the less room and the more present the instrument is. You could also use a pair to capture a beautiful stereo image of the space you are in! If you have any further questions, please give me a ring! Drake Sobehrad, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 3271, drake_sobehrad@sweetwater.com

@@franscara the sm7b is an amazing vocal microphone for singing speaking and rapping . And the Rode Nt1/NT1a are super quiet and super detailed microphones excellent for vocals or acoustic guitar . A big difference is the sm7b does well in untreated rooms whereas the Rode would not sound great in a poorly treated acoustic room. Oh and both mics are durable from companies with great customer service

That video editing style of going back and forth between full shot and one slightly zoomed in shot is very annoying. Just leave a static shot or use two cameras, or maybe add a slider. Great info, but had to just listen instead of watch.
