what imaginary fantasy land do you live in. you must never do dishes or know any alcoholics because you lost me at you need a this. I have tried this numerous times and it turns into a nightmare. You shouldn't be giving anyone alcohol at your home; it brings out the worse in people. I cannot understand why anyone would peel a fruit or shake a drink. If you want fruit in your drink cut it in quarters. Hell, I don't even put ice cubes in drinks anymore because the ice is always gone and it's just not necessary. This is complete and utter trash of a video.

We need to keep helping others learn to make drinks properly and be better hosts. Nothing ruins the vibe of an adult house party quicker than when all they have to serve is vodka sodas in a Solo cup. This Bar Essentials series is a great way to introduce folks to building a proper home bar. More please!

@@WoWUndad Right? Like "I'm here hanging out with all these friends I love and care about, listening to the music we all like, with that movie we all geek out about on the screen in the living room, swapping stories and making plans, but if the drinks aren't professional and served in specific glassware what even is the point?" Learning how to make these classic drinks is a fun addition that a lot of people enjoy, but if you're invited into someone's home and you show up with a List of Expectations you're guaranteeing yourself a crappy night. This video is great for those who want to go the extra mile, but damn, dude, your friends shouldn't be expected to Serve you. They're not getting paid. Learn to be grateful for what's being offered.

I know this was a couple years ago, but I hope this isn't truly your mindset. Sure I love a good cocktail but I'm not expecting one at a friend's party, unless maybe that friend is a bartender. I don't care what I'm drinking or whether or not it has alchohol in it, if I'm partying with the right people, that's what makes all the difference. Although I will draw the line at cheap, generic booze. That's just for my health though. 😅 Food & drinks definitely make a party more fun, but not everyone who wants to throw a party also wants to be a bartender. That's not what really makes them a good host. What makes a good host is charisma mostly. Don't be a snob. If you want a craft cocktail, go to a nice bar.

jesus christ. if I want a nice drink i pay for all the stuff for myself to make it or go to a bar and fucking _buy one._ i would never dream of judging my friend for making me something simple. getting handed a vodka soda in a red solo cup is an act of love gdi

The way I’ve seen a traditional Mojito made, is they add a ton of mint to a ton of sugar, then they stir them with a spoon gently for a while without muddling, and the sugar will start to extract the moisture from the mint leaves. You get this thick grainy mint flavored sugar syrup.

Campari is tough. When I first started bartending I hated the stuff, but wanted to like it. 4 years on I now enjoy it but I’ve found only in drinks that are less heavy on the Campari. Try a jungle bird, that was my first introduction. A drink I made myself featuring Campari that is also light but you can definitely taste it is essentially 4 parts Tequila (preferably reposado) 2 parts fresh lime, 2 parts Campari, a BSP of agave syrup and topped with around 100ML indian tonic water in a highball over ice.

I love your videos. I just subscribed. Just a quick note. I’ve noticed that for Paloma’s. Instead of using club/carbonated water. Use Fresca/Squirt it gives it a sweeter flavor. And is not as harsh. That’s the way that I’ve served/drank it in multiple bars in Mexico and has always been a favorite. Great job either way. Your recipes are good for amateur to professional and aspiring bartenders. Great looking drinks. Although I’ve never heard anyone say they enjoy their old fashioned grainy with un dissolved sugar. Sometimes I like to replace the sugar with a really quality maple syrup. Not quite as classy but delicious!

The first time I ever had a Negroni I loved it. It is definitely my favorite drink. I would have the stuff to make it now if I had the money.

I'm glad to say that I've not only made all these, but also made variations on most of them. For the Mojito I like using New Groove Plantation (not to be confused with Plantion brand rums). It also should in theory be closer to the "El Draque" I think that's what the predecessor for the Mojito was called. I think that used Aguardiente instead of rum and I think new groove has some extra common ingredients with Aguardiente. IDK I'm kinda going off the top of my head so I'm not 100% on the link. I have a garden so making one with various types of mint straight from the garden, just gives it such depth!

Back when the mojito was created, aguardiente was used instead of rum. However, aguardiente is basically rum prior to being distilled. It was a hard liquor. The "aguardiente" that you see now a days, is a completely different spirit and has nothing to do with this

I use the jar of a coffee plunger as a mixing glass, and modified the plunger to be a pseudo julep strainer. Works great.

Great, great video guys! Having followed this channel for a while now I can confirm these are now all "go to" drinks for me, although for some reason the Paloma passed me by. I'll be rectifying this error at the weekend 😉
