All of this seems based on the premise that the only value available is succumbing to the primate-level social element of humanity and agreeing that your happiness, survival and value are in everyone else's hands and up to them to determine. If you are an extrovert or otherwise socially-needy, that may be sadly true for you. And if any of these 6 things are true of you then, yes, you are probably one of these people. But there are people for whom the other option for personal growth is to improve yourself independently and become more self-sufficient so that your needs are not in the hands of the hordes or their opinions of you. And it is not just human animals whose benefit is a worthy pursuit. If you bring value to any living thing on this planet, especially animals that are less driven by the unimpressive truths this video paints about humans, that is probably of higher and purer value and meaning, and is therefore often more fulfilling than simply transactional. Presuming that all your happiness will be brought by winning the girl, impressing the boss, becoming popular or famous among the masses of people you don't even know, etc... that is another game your mind plays on you and it satisfies almost no-one who pursues those things under the hope those things will be the solution to their problems. Be a better and happier you without needing the girl or the praise, offer important things to species to whom the rest of humanity is essentially cancerous, and develop the ability to independently create your own happiness and self-fulfillment. If this doesn't make sense to you or your brain reacts with the same kinds of excuses as this video describes for the social-credit realm of "self improvement", then good luck to you. Because you won't end up with the pay-off you're aiming for by trying to convince everyone else to appreciate you for stuff you do only to gain that appreciation.

This all only applies to the ego... ... if you live by the ego and for the ego, then, yes, this is how it will all be for you. But the ego is not the real you, and this shallow transactional manipulation you describe is not the only experience of life possible. Rather than learning to play the game at the level of ego, do the work to clear the ego, and live a life truly free and fulfilled within. :)

Relationships are transactional. You can love and adore someone for years, but if they do not reciprocate, what are you gaining? What is the point? How can they make you happy? What do they do for you that justifies your undying affection? Even a successful person who is shut off from the world will never find meaningful relationships because they refuse to give or receive any love themselves.

@@steved6413 I bet you will be OK! However, your crow friend, how wonderful! Did he or she live in the house with you or were they outside and came in? Did they ever heal? What crow was it? It sounded like such beautiful experience. I only had 2 weeks with Gemima and 1 day with the injured crow who died the next day. I found it all a bit heart breaking when they left but so beautiful, Gemima taught me a lot, this young crow was so full of excitement and curious of life. She made me feel saner somehow, maybe her contact drew me closer to nature. I had no crow contact this year, only fed them when my landlady wasn't watching, but I feed them less often now as l fear they would become dependent and they have plenty of food at this time of year, in nature. I give them local mutton fat with organic peanuts and coconut, all a bit high in fat so l don't give too much in case it would harm them. I love them 💗😍 Did your crow learn to speak?

You just restated what I've always believed, that all human interactions are basically selfish and will never occur unless it benefited one or both parties. Think deeply about even the nicest human interaction or behavior and you will find a self component to each and every one of them. I suppose that is why I have so few friends right now, because I know that they will just use me until I dry up and then dump me in search of a new victim to bleed dry. What hurts the most is that I frequently found these kind of people in church.

I understand what youre getting at but thats exactly what the video is trying to explain: would you actually care about some guy on the other side of the world just because he says hes a nice guy? Now what if this guy sent $100 to you? Point is, there are billions of "nice guys" out there, but only thr guy which sent you $100 matters to you. Same is with everybody else

Being impressed by myself is not a possibility. It is only through external observations that a person could seem to be impressive to another. If one is impressed by themselves it would be narcissistic at best.

Perhaps I misunderstood, but I would disagree. I occasionally am pleasantly surprised, for instance when trying to play a song for the first time on the guitar, how well it goes. Isn't that the same as being impressed by oneself? The reverse of course also happens.

Let me ask questions: When you hone and use your skills to provide quality work you are proud to share, that people congratulate you for even: was it the right thing to feel better? But then some other people asks you to change everything to fit their agenda, disregarding your expertise on the subject (and not taking no for an answer): are we allowed to complain, or is it yet another excuse? When you go beyond being a good listener and use your knowledge and humor to help someone you have feelings for: is it the right thing to be proud? But you still get the friend/brotherly love treatment after all that : should you be happy that it is at least a form of love? If the attempt to help generated hatred instead, break a friendship and put you in a situation you question yourself: what do you do? If you have no grand ambition but being a frugal yet reliable father: do you have to betray your needs to fit the needs of others?

A very useful piece of advice. I gave up doing anything for the community several years ago for two reasons. It made no difference to anyone. Second, we have a welfare government and they should do their work. If I find anything to be set right, I approach the right people in the government, and, 90percent of the time, the job gets done. I paint well, write well, edit learned papers and am a fitness freak. I know now that people watch me closely. So far, several of them have told me that they look up to me as a source of inspiration without really knowing anything about me beyond what they can observe. That inspires me to live a blameless private life. How do you explain these phenomena.

I'm a trash collector, so what would I think about myself according to these values accepted by society? I tell you what, imagine one of those big cities like Los Angeles or any other, not having waste collect for one week. All those important people with their fancy titles and things would sink in their own $hit. At the end, all of this is nothing but states of mind. And now here it goes the cliche; we're all nothing but dust.

There's one thing about this bit of that I disagree with. I didn't hate it I loved it it's great! For the five things that I picked to start the video all of them are real projects that are currently serving mankind. To name two, one is a bridge built out of discarded scrap steel the saved my friend $30,000.00. The other is an specialized electric vehicle that sold for $12,000.00 People around me can't understand why I am offered given unique opportunities and privilege, the simple way to understand this is, what unique privilege would you offer me if I could facilitate you achieving a lifetime goal while saving you $30,000? By the way the people he talks about that constantly put you down, in my case predict that the bridge is going to fall down any day now and they been predicting this for over a decade.😂 Not that any of this is new the whole idea of this video can be found in the New testament where James the brother of Christ talks about don't pray for your brother, go help your brother and then pray for him. Of course many of those who hold the Bible to be holy, refer to James Epistle as the Epistle of straw.

Okay but does everybody have to be a surgeon? How often is somebody bleeding out on the street? I still find this to be very subjective. @@blankearth5840 You can replace the surgeon by a janitor and replace the person bleeding by a building requiring the maintainance of a janitor. It's just when it's a matter of life and death like with the surgeon example, it's more obvious you don't want an incompetent person doing the job. Most people tend to be capable of imagining the result of someone performing surgery without competence, far fewer people know about the horrors that can result from an incompetent janitor.

@@blankearth5840 You seemed to have taken the tale literally rather than metaphorically since you asked the question : "Okay but does everybody have to be a surgeon? How often is somebody bleeding out on the street?" Someone who understood that 'surgeon' was merely used metaphorically as a stand in for someone possessing a skill set that others lack and as such being valuable to others wouldn't have asked that question other than for trolling reasons. I don't think you were trolling, but of course I could be mistaken as well.

@maxave7448
@maxave7448 Жыл бұрын
Did you watch the video? Let me summarize it for you: Basically what he says is that if you want to be respected by others you must provide something others cant. Example: some guy on the other side of the world says hes a "nice guy". Do you care? - no. Now scenario 2: Some guy on the other side of the world has been your friend for years. Do you care? - yes. Because the friend provided you with good times while the "nice guy" did absolutely nothing to benefit you. As cruel as it may seem, that is what reality really is. And if you think about it, all human interaction is like that, and not just human - all of nature is like this.
@Noodles1771
@Noodles1771 Жыл бұрын
@@maxave7448 No this is not what the video is ‘basically’ about but to address your comment: yes I care about the homeless guy on the street that did nothing for me because my happiness and sense of well-being doesn’t just rest solely and selfishly on my own happiness and well-being but on the happiness and well-being of others. Capitalism is a system that atomizes us and places status on only those things that produce value within the context of the system. It promotes individualism over universal values that transcend a market of exchange. In other words you are the peasant that recites what 15th century nobility would tell him about the divine right of kings updated for the modern era. This video and those that agree with it are simpletons reciting the values of the ruling class - nothing more.

@@Noodles1771 1. I did not say the guy was homeless 2. I doubt it that you actually care about him (I find that really hard to believe, but if somehow you do, I apologize for my assumption) 3. I may have summarized the video slightly inaccurately. What I meant was that if you want to be valued by others you cant just sit around, do nothing, and bring no benefit to others 4. Could you explain how capitalism turns you into a serf?
