Fala pessoal! Paulo from Jubilee here! I’m a Brazilian Korean and this was a super special episode for me because I could really relate to the things everyone was talking about being a Latino. Are you Latino? Where are you from or which country do you identify with? If you’re not Latino, then which Latin American country would you like to visit once Covid-19 gets better? Comment below! Um salve para o meu povo brasileiro! É nois!

@@razorgamer6736 People in Latin America identify themselves with their nationality instead of their 'regional identity' most of the time. Answering you consider yourself 'latino' when you're given the choice of answering 'from x country' sounds like you're implying that a somewhat bodiless concept is more important to you than your own country(?). I don't know how to explain it, but it's weird. Being from a certain region truly takes relevance when you're abroad and you meet someone who is from that place as well and shares cultural values with you, even if they are the guys from Neighborstan you used to hate so much, but, hey! They happen to have something similar to what mum used to feed you with back home. What's the searching's name?

André has an accent, has always lived in Brazil, has a typical Brazilian room and the guys voted him out just because "he doesn't belong" to the Latino culture like Spanish speaking latinos. And it's crazy that he is more latino than anybody else there, since most of them can barely or not speak Spanish at all, have never lived in their ancestors country or have lived abroad for so many years.

Brazil is not a Latino country, our culture is different, a Carnival in Brazil is very different from a Carnival in Colombia or Venezuela or Argentina, and most of the times when there is some similarity is just this countries imitating brazilian carnival, we also have other festivals which are unique to Brazil. Our culture overall is more african than any other country in Ibero America, but at same time we're also more european than almost all the countries in Ibero America except for Uruguay and Argentina. Our culture is also more cosmopolitan very similar to the concept of "melting pot" that exists in the US. Brazil is different from the Latino countries just like Portugal is not the same as Spain, or the US doesn't have the same culture as England, despite being their colony.

I like how those kinds of videos really show how close we are despite all differences. When Angela said about three kings day, we have that in Brazil! It's a traditional feast here in the countryside, not as common as it once ways, we call it "folia de reis". Oh and André is the most obvious Brazilian guy in the planet, it's unbelievable that he got voted out.

MIGUEL ACTUALLY FOOLED ME! I'm from Jalisco, México, and it is true that we have a place called "Los Altos", where people are actually white; blondes, gingers with green, blue or hazel eyes. And by the way, "the VIBE" thing most of the comments are talking about isn't everything. Humans are humans. I've met very shy mexicans, who doesn't like dancing, or drinking, or even traditional foods (as weird as it sounds). We're just all different and that doesn't make anyone less latino. Being latino runs in your blood, period. 🧡🔥

That's interesting, the whole time my doubts were about Miguel and Tomás. I have a Mexican friend from Villahermosa who is very white and has green eyes despite being from the south of Mexico. Lots of people sadly doubt that he's even Mexican. Anyway, it's true that some Mexicans are very white. I had my doubts on Miguel and Tomás the entire time, I would have eliminated one or even both of them. 😂

I'm embarrassed by this too, I speak Spanish fluently, and intermediate Portuguese. I knew the mole was Tomás and my second guess was Miguel. André's answer "falo" was just way too idiomatic, and his Portuguese is excellent. Tomás didn't say a single word in Spanish, and I would have quizzed him on Argentinian hinchadas (the songs that Argentinian soccer fans sing), I'm sure he wouldn't have known any. I would have asked him to name a single song by Soda Stereo, every Argentinian knows this band and even non-Argentinians too. Fun fact : à sua maneira by Capital Inicial is a song that was inspired by música ligera by Soda Stereo.

If Tomás is latino then Aylen is Korean. Tomás knows little to nothing about our culture, language and country, because your descendence isn't the only thing that determinates your origin, but also the environment in which you were raised, the language you speak, the country you were born in and your traditions. Just like the girl from Costa Rica said, even tho she had a Mexican parent, the way she was raised and where she lived makes her more Costa Rican than Mexican, that's how it works

Something that Americans should mainly learn is to differentiate one thing from another, Tomas was born in the United States, his parents are Argentine, well in that case he is American with Latin American descent, Latinos are all those who speak a language derived from Latin for example French, Portuguese, Spanish, Romanian, etc. Depending on the country of origin, the Latin American term is correct or not. A more inclusive form would be Hispanic, because it encompasses all the other countries that speak Spanish but are not from the American continent. And the most important thing is to stop confusing ethnicity with race, being from a Latin American country does not make you dark and short, we are products of Spanish miscegenation (white Europeans) so diversity abounds in our countries.

@Dashawn Jefferson it's clear that you don't know anytihing about latin america, Argentina?, Uruguay? even the south of brazil and Chile is full of white people and white descendants, Argentina not only have spaniar ancestry but also italian, the same with the south of brazil and chile have germanic descendants in the south, in chile there's still prussian traditions in our army, mexico is not all of latin america, almost the 40% of latin america is white people, you don't mix like 20 countries in just 300 years. Our culture is the mix between LATIN traditions and native traditions, we mixed them, changed them, create new culture, etc... and obviously the nationality it's not enough, if you have the nationality but don't know anything about latino you are other gringo to us, the same if you don't even have that nationality and still don't know anything about latin america. and i know the differences between race, culture, nationality and ethnicity, but you guys in the usa are obsessed with it. and yes, if you have the culture, the language, the traditions and you have lived in latin america you are like any other latino, we don't care where are you from, but how you embraced the culture and know about our culture, i mean we don't even use the word latino in our countries, in fact a lot of people HATE other countries, like, look at chile, chile literally fought with all of its neighboring countries
