What is the rush? Uprooting your whole life, job, child/children, support system, etc, is a huge commitment on HER behalf. For a decision that big, seems to me, waiting on HIS commitment to complete a marriage ceremony is not that difficult an ask. Don't be surprised if this woman's son resents her when he grows up. Every situation is different. I am not married, I live with my partner, I work and I’m in grad school & I don’t pay any bills except my own; like my car payment & student loans. The goal is for us to get married. I lived in Charlotte and had my own place. If I had a child I would have not moved in with him before marriage. The stability of a child should always be a priority. We live and we learn!

If she were my little sister, I would say, take a break from dating and focus on establishing some roots and focusing on yourself and your son. Don't move to Houston! Running away from issues when we haven't changed is never a good idea. Move to an area where you have a support network, and your son will have the love and attention HE needs. I know it's difficult for some mothers to accept, but when you become a mother without a husband, YOUR CHILD is first. You make decisions and do things based on how it will affect your child. I'm sorry, it doesn't seem fair, but that's what it is. If someone wants to date you, they have to be mature enough to accept that. Having those boundaries will weed out those immature men, or the ones just not right for you. And trust me, the right man will absolutely love and respect that about you. So just relax for awhile, figure out your next move, get settled, get your son settled ( this break up affects him too, even if you don't notice it, this is another man who left him) and make your next move your best move and let love and a good man FIND YOU! Also, getting into a relationship because you don't like being alone or single always ends badly. Work on yourself, build a healthy relationship with your son. She made a big mistake to move for a man who is not her husband. The only way I would move is if we are married, or about to get married. He lost interest after she moved-the relationship wasn’t strong enough to begin with. Some men are into games, and will test a woman to see how much she will bend (how far she will go for him), especially if he thinks she loves him more. Some are also on a mission to try and break or embarrass a “strong” woman. She’s still fairly young, so I hope she learned a valuable lesson from this experience. Don’t love any man more than how you love yourself; don’t move for a man unless he is your husband; and learn to be more in control of your emotions (try to balance logic and emotions).

@@ToriUptown It wasn't a smart choice to move in the first place. But since she did the dumb thing and moved, it was at least a smart choice to get her own place if she's also brought her minor child with her. It's not wise to move your child in a home with man you only know from the internet and haven't spent any real-life time around.
