Yet this is why I never got married. The marriage laws are against men, especially men with resources and women today will even divorce a man for the most simple of things instead of getting therapy/counseling or accepting it. Marriage vows are created for a reason, because marriage isn’t a 100% all the time lovely event. You have highs and lows like any other relationship. This is why a strong tight knit family of support is needed for both sides, especially long term married elders who can give advice to maintain the marriage. I what’s sad is people who claim to be Christians, don’t even know what the Bible says about a woman who divorced her husband who is still alive. You’re not even suppose to marry another man but instead go back to your husband and reconcile

The love and romance is great but it’s the hard times that really test you. Will that love for each other get you through the tough times because they will come. Sickness job loss, finances, raising kids etc. I heard something once about marriage that made sense. At Thanksgiving the main dish is the Turkey. You prep it and put it in the oven. While it’s cooking, you start preparing all the sides. But all the while you’re forgetting to base the Turkey. Check on the main dish. The Turkey is the marriage. The sides are the kids, bills, your careers. Although the sides are important, you’re neglecting the main dish. I thought that was a great analogy.
