Legit had no clue for the past 2 years I had this damn chair, that those caps on the armrest come off and you can completely unscrew them and take these klunky ass armrests off the damn chair. Thank you for this vid complete fixed my back problem that armrests were preventing me from pulling the chair in without getting stuck on the padded armrests

Finally I found a fix for my armrest. It was annoying me so much because I’ve only ever bought 50-75$ chairs that lasted 10 years and spending the extra for this to have it wobbly annoyed me so much

Thanks so much for this! Have you found the right permanent fix yet? Would love to know if you did. Thanks!

I bought this chair recently from samsclub, and it is so much nicer than my previous chair which was a basic leather office chair from staples. There customer service is good, the clip on my lumbar pillow broke on me from adjusting it and they sent me a new one with no issues :)

I got the wobbly arm rests that don’t bother me too much but the seat is tilting down so I’m sliding out and the leg rest is almost touching the ground and there is no adjustment for this

Perfect! I used duct tape and it's still holding. I tried a tapered plastic grommet, but the tape worked better. The proverbial, "Why didn't I think of that?"

Never underestimate the power of a well placed shim.
@Reviewsandmore3 жыл бұрын
The issue with using a shim is that the chair reclines and the arms recline with it, uses a metal cylinder as a bearing, I could shim it, but then I would lose the ability to recline

I just got my chair and was already having issues with the wobbling. Didn't have any electrical tape but zip ties are working really well, and I think they'll stay better than electrical tape would.
@Reviewsandmore4 жыл бұрын
I assume you wrapped the tie around the slot in some way?
@JMiliam4 жыл бұрын
@@Reviewsandmore Yeah, they lie flat on the slot well. They just stack up like if you were to wear multiple wristbands. Don't need to stack the square parts that lock it for it to work but I wouldn't be surprised if that made it even more secure.
@kevcub84 жыл бұрын
Yeah got mine and had the same wobbly problem. This fixed it. Though I will need to find a perm solution. Also the padding on my seat is paper thin. I can’t sit for more than an hour or so before my butt starts to hurt. Granted I am a bigger fellow, but my office chair from staples for $75 has better seat cushioning. Not what I expected with a $150 chair.
@greenlion65443 жыл бұрын
I would try. I might order a glue gun and really seal it in there for good. You might try rubber cement, but that seems like it would eventually wear down too.
@aretailcashier4503 жыл бұрын
I got my respawn chair about two weeks ago and the leg rest broke and is now useless. it broke around the plastic joints on the side of the cushions that stop the cushion from going rotating beyond the 180 degrees it takes to be in place. is there a way i can replace the single part aside from going to customer support for respawn? Like maybe theres a third party company that sells a higher quality part that happens to fit or would that be too easy lol
@dramey4 жыл бұрын
I bought this chair and it has been great! My armrests are a bit wobbly but it doesn’t bother me when I’m playing games or watching KZfaq. The chair is comfy (even though some reviews said the chair hurt after sitting in it for a few hours) which I can understand but I’ve had no problems really. Great chair, I recommend this or gtracing my friend has a gtracing and it’s pretty cool too. If you want comfort, get this one for the footrest.
@Reviewsandmore3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the price to quality ratio is great...they now have one with a mesh back that looks really sharp....wife wants me to get it for her....we will see.
@dramey3 жыл бұрын
Reviews_and_more haha! Maybe if this chair ever breaks or gets worn out I will look at that!
@brianransom163 жыл бұрын
I have the same chair and the arms are wobblily. I used shims cut from aluminum cans to create a bushing/bearing which seem to make up for 90% of the slack in the arm joints. Perhaps I can fine tune this. I don't have the same circle you have on the head rest, maybe your chair is a one off. My arm broke at one of the joints and they sent me a whole new chair for a one time replacement. Hey Extra parts! I had the chair for 1 year. I cannot complain for the price considering top quality is gonna cost you 500+. I figure with some minor engineering adjustments this would be a great chair at a great price.

Great idea. I just put rubber O-rings (approx. 1/2 inch outside diameter) in the arm sections, upper and lower bolt holes, works great and still reclines like it should. Plumbing washers would probably work also.

My chair won’t recline anymore please help
@ghostpeppered45242 жыл бұрын
I have the wiggly arm problem as well as the recline problem. The lock is no longer strong enough to hold me upright. Many times I will lean back into the chair and the back will recline abruptly with a loud snap. I swear to god it's going to make me back flip. I can see others complaining about this on Amazon. I was hoping for a fix for the recline locking mechanism. The chair is definitely borderline quality and I am hoping to salvage it. But it has been less than 30 days, I should probably return it and get another brand/model.
@ghostpeppered45242 жыл бұрын
I found a black plastic cap covering a nut which I was able to tighten to get the back recline to stiffen up. I tightened it with the handle in both positions until it was very snug. Now the handle feels different and the back is holding up so we'll see how long this lasts.
@Shiek2004 жыл бұрын
anyone who happens to see this, I did the same thing by cutting a hole in a plastic bottlecap (those thin ones on cheap watterbottles) and it doesn't work QUITE as well, but it lasts way longer than the electrical tape.
@Reviewsandmore4 жыл бұрын
OMG that is a great idea!
@Shiek2004 жыл бұрын
@@Reviewsandmore yeah just make sure the inside of the cap faces the arm rest so the edges don't dig into the pu leather and damage its integrity, one nick will lower the integrity of the whole thing over time. Not by a ton but why do it at all when it's so easily avoidable. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out how to fix, and it seems like it's mostly because it's just not fixable without getting new parts, is when I lean back, my chair wobbles a lot more (accompanied by clicking sounds). It's not due to any instability at the base where the wheels are at, which means it's likely either a result of where the hydraulic piston meets the chair having a minor machining imperfection and not lining up perfectly (thanks china), or a faulty/damaged bearing inside the piston, but after inspecting the chair very thoroughly it appears to be an entirely benign issue that won't actually cause the chair to fall apart, and is just annoying.
@slick29824 жыл бұрын
Stupid question, but why wouldn't getting a washer work?
@pimpinondemhos1014 жыл бұрын

the problem is that the arm rests move with the reclining function. And the issue is that the slot is a bit to wide for the pegs, which causes the wobble.

So i found the permanent solution for my screw well being loose i will admit it is a very complex fix but here it is. Step one: remove all the staples from the front half of the underside of the chair ( where you sit) Step two: lift the wood untill you can see the metal plate that the screw well is attached to Step three: check to see if the screws holding the metal plate to the wood are loose (mine were) tighten the screws Step four: replace the mesh and use a extra strength staple gun (like the type used on roofing normal house staples didnt work for me) Again this solution worked for me but it may be to much for you. I also tried this temp fix and it worked

the back piece of my chair doesn’t line up correctly with the seat... it’s shifted over to the left too much and i’ve taken it apart and put it back together 3 different times now and still no difference. i ended up measuring the bottom screw holes and to the end of the seat and they aren’t evenly spaced on it

So I've had my respawn chair for about less than 2 years. And while yes it does have the loose armrest on the left I think, it also has an issue where if I lean back hard enough it'll go back on its own. Is there a fix for that?
@Reviewsandmore Жыл бұрын
i had a similar issue, I found it was not an issue of how hard i leaned back , but rather that the chair lock would slowly wiggle out of position and I would abruptly "fall down" scared the crap out of my. @madmax20693 жыл бұрын
It's because that garbage of a wart they call a "foot rest" was an afterthought. It's attached to the chair by plastic, and the tubes that hold the "foot rest" is very thin cheap metal. You can't really call it a "foot rest" as it doesn't extend far enough to rest your feet on it, it can barely hold the weight of a single leg, let alone two legs. I only weigh around 165lbs so I'm far under the weight limit.

Two months of ownership and the armrests are so sloppy they feel like they're about to fall off, I don't recline the chair either. I'm only 165lbs, so it's definitely not a weight issue and I make sure I sit down on it easily. If you're looking for a chair, avoid this chair, as a matter of fact avoid any chair that says "gaming" in the title and just find an office chair, you'll be far happier. It's a $150 rip-off.
