@@Gent.Z a few more thoughts: the acceptance and promotion of manners is of course cultural and regional. We lived in a very liberal city on the west coast. I remember coming to a door with a male colleague. We both stood looking at the door until he opened it for me. When I said thank you for being a gentleman, he rolled his eyes and shook his head. Common attitude there. Two years ago we moved to Texas and live near to Dallas but in the country. The manners are supreme here and even when a rancher has his ranching garb on, due to their exceptional manners and respectful demeanor, I consider them incredibly elegant

@@wiseonwordsyeah I’ll never forget when I held the door open for a woman and she intentionally went for another door to avoid going in the one I had just held open. Luckily, these experiences are very rare and most women enjoy these acts of chivalry.

This may not seem praiseworthy, but I personally admired how professional he is around women. It made an impression on me when I learned that Millie Bobby Brown tried to get to know him more and he insisted they maintain a professional relationship ship. There was a large age and life experience gap between them and he wanted to keep his personal life separate from his work life. In an age where playboy Hollywood actors or directors will jump at any chance to get with a woman or welcome any advance, it’s noteworthy to have someone as profesional as Henry to look up to.

I heard people saying, oh that's old school and traditional we don't need it, we have feminism now. Being a gentleman doesn't mean you're traditional, it means you had a proper upbringing, it means you have manners, you know how to read the room, you set boundaries for yourself. The way he carries himself is what makes him attractive to so many women. It's appealing because it should be the norm and not the exception. Same goes for women, its not lost on me the fact that women forgot how to be ladies, how to carry themselves with dignity and how to be classy. Classy doesn't mean you should be wearing expensive brands, it's more about what you wish to communicate with your clothes. There's beauty in simplicity as well and sexiness comes from more than just clothes.

I thank you for addressing the gentleman in your channel and giving men back a little of their dignity. There used to be people, like my parents, who dressed differently for different occasions. And, my parents were fashionable and not too conservative, but tastefully dressed. Today I see too many men dressed like Bart Simpson or Connan the Barbarian and always looking like that same type. Young guys also seem to like wearing sweatpants and sometimes they seem repulsive. I is a shame that people only have to buy their first suit for a wedding and are dressed casually all the time. Even smaller men appear completely different when they are well dressed.

This was obviously a passion project for you,and it's extremely well done. I read in "Variety" that Henry Cavill was first runner-up to Brandon Routh for the lead in "Superman Returns",as well as finishing a close second to Daniel Craig, for the role of James Bond in "Casino Royale". Cavill was dubbed "The Unluckiest Man in Hollywood". To go on from those enormous setbacks to carve out a successful career, including being "Superman" for a new generation,is incredibly impressive. Grit, resilience, tenacity, along with elegance, style, and manners. Henry Cavill.

This has been discussed, but it would seem that the opportunity has passed. Cavill is too well-known, too expensive, and likely too old to take the Bond role now. Apparently the next Bond movie will be more of a foundation story about Bond’s early career.

I would tend to agree, as someone looking over his should at his twenties, somewhere in the distant past, that he is an excellent role model to follow. All of those traits are highly desirable in a man. In a world obsessed with "toxic masculinity", this guy nails it. He exhibits many of the traits that people now label as toxic and proves just how positive and valuable those traits really are. I would say if you're in your late teens or early twenties and still trying to find yourself, look to Henry for inspiration and you won't go far wrong

This is getting to be one of my favorite channels here. This is one of the very few men's focused channels on this site that isn't chock-full of political / red pill bullshit, and maybe the only one out of those few that focuses on the classic aesthetic. Well done. Maybe at some point you could make a video about classical styles for balding gracefully. Your great head of hair doesn't need it (yet), but for those of us 30 and older it starts to become a relevant question. There were a lot of great actors from the golden age like Cary Grant or George C. Scott who pulled off a stylish balding look, and of course Cavill himself is a modern example of the same. I feel like a lot of the modern hair advice is just to shave if you're losing your hair, which is fine but might not always fit the look people who are into traditional men's fashion are into.

When I think about the past, for me Paul Newman is one of the most fashionable men ever. Even everyday clothes looked very good on him. He was usually well and tastefully dressed. Many of these things could also be worn today. But, I do not idealize Newman, he was much smaller than me and knew very well that he was desirable. He often plays the same person in many films, but he looked naturally good!

I have nothing against him, in fact I think he seems like a cool guy, but I feel like much of it is an act. Then again, so much of "appearing like a gentleman" is, so maybe it's not saying much, but I haven't heard the best things about him behind closed doors or on filming sets. He is human. He makes mistakes. He gets mad. He has a temper. He can be rude to others. He does know how to act in the spotlight, and maybe that's all being a gentleman really is: keeping up appearances. It is nice to have people to look up to or get inspired by, but putting someone on a pedestal and acting as if they can do no wrong is a dangerous notion.

Thank you for another very interesting and informative video. I knew very little about this actor but he does indeed sound like a gentleman. It's just a pity that a man who behaves normally is held in awe. Surely he is just behaving the way we all should. No doubt he has his faults as we all do and has made mistakes in his past as we all have. Like him we should all do our best. The world could be a better place

During the time I worked in film and television, I also met terrible celebrities, often unattractive men, but famous . The actor Dolph Lundgren was an exception. He was a really fit man and, like his brother, he was tall and had a very sharp face. His body was amazing too. I remember that he was a model for fashion, before he became famous. Even though he was wearing his normal clothes when we met. Despite of it, he looked impressive, like a superman from a comic strip. I still remember his kind eyes and polite manner to this day. He had a very cold back then, but was still charming.

I consider myself a chivalrous man, always walking on the kerbside if I’m with my wife, or stepping into the road on a narrow path for women and children coming the other way. I hold doors open for everyone and thank those that do so for me. However, whenever I DO offer a woman a hand down steps, they look at me as if I’m going to attack them. It’s very disappointing in this day and age.

Many great examples we can use. Many of us won't be in sex scenes in movies, but I do hate when they pop up in movies needlessly, especially when watching with your lady. I just re-watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and I think the scenes were just enough to establish the passion between the two without being porn. Mind you, Angelina just smiling at you is an entire sex scene all in itself. ;) That goes back to an earlier point of yours that the foreplay should start well before she gets back at your pad.

To me he's the perfect look at how the heteronormativoty of the gentleman arcyetype shouldn't bw so normalised especially in comparison tp someone who embraces the archetype themselves whilst also being a queer icon.

He acted as if he was a miserable child with 3 or 4 people trying to cater to him. This was in San Diego just prior to the comic convention. At the beach village attached to the dell resort

Im a huge Cavill fan, but he’s too muscular to play Bond. Too bad, I’d love to see him as Bond.

Do you understand that an actors fitness depends on the role he is playing? He was huge in the MoS and the Witcher, smaller in other roles, obviously, he would prepare.

He should be the new James Bond rather than the recent ugly, thuggish looking, charmless Bond.

Cavill seems like a decent guy but I have one problem with this video: just because someone is a celebrity does not make them a good person. We don't really know these people or their inner lives. How would anyone really ascertain if Cavill is a good role model simply judging on his movie roles and public appearances? People thought Bill Cosby was a nice guy. On another note, we don't really know how stylish and fashionable these celebrities really are. They have an expensive army of stylists and estheticians working for them, every stitch of clothing they wear is chosen for them, and again there is a gulf of difference between what someone presents and how they truly are.

A lot of his attitude has to do with the school he went to.

LOL, no wonder why I find him so hot. He has some very interesting hobbies too. I can't wait for him to introduce me to the world of Warhammer. EDIT: You know what? He could easily become the next James Bond.
