Wow Amygdala Hijack!! Dear Shadé I am a Buddhist Meditation practitioner for many years. What made me hooked on to and follow your videos was the explanations you provide for the various emotional states and other day to day issue that we go through and react on. These explanations which are based on the anatomy of the brain and secretions there, helped me understand a bit of body-mind system. So now I can relate better with my emotions and the activity in the brain responsible for it. So grateful that you made all of it so simple and easy for me. ❤️ Just to share... I did try to study Medical Neurology online from Duke University for understanding body-mind equation. I couldn't complete the course as my educational background is in Engineering. So, thank you 🙏🙏🙏 so so very much Shadé for making these videos. These are of immense value to me. Also, am amazed how versatile you could be!! Simply overawed by your range of talents!!! Wonder how could you do all that at such young age and that too so successfully and consistently!!! Am keen to know your struggles, challenges, disappointments, failures and related things that made you what you are now. So if you could share a bit of your self? This comes from the fact that I want to know the person whom I follow so keenly and steadfastly. 🙏🙏🙏

I love the step that says "realize it's temporary," it reminds me to have faith in ALL kinds of weather, because the sun will always shine; I must do my best and always remember: the dark clouds pass with time. So, Shadé, I'm heading into the Recording Studio this week, and Emotional Self-Regulation is paramount. Thank you for bringing us Science-backed solutions!

My hands were crippled in surgery a couple years ago and my fine motor control is gone and sometimes they still spasm at random and make me drop or throw things. This still occasionally causes me to have raging freakouts. Last night though when grabbing a dish from the dry rack I had a spasm and knocked several plastic plates and bowls onto the floor. I felt one of these rages coming upon me but I just stopped and did some deep breathing and it really worked.

I have been experiencing amygdala hijack in the years since I quit smoking. Watching this video, it actually makes sense -in a way I had been doing most of the steps every time I smoke. I’ve toyed with the idea of just smoking again to become rationale again, but now I am going to explore this line of reasoning and see if I can deconstruct all of the little habits involved with smoking that perhaps have been helping me to calm down. Thank you for the advice!

@@ShadeZahrai true. Also, they were considered science as well. Not what most modernists will agree with. Spirituality and science were in sync for most ancient rishis. They are two sides of a coin. It does help when they are credited. Instead, for the longest time they were called pseudo science. It pains many to see the credibility comes only when so called prestigious universities talk the same stuff. Life has come a circle.
@ShadeZahrai
@ShadeZahrai Жыл бұрын
I like your analogy of two sides of the same coin. Science without religion becomes merely the instrument of crude materialism. While religion, without science, soon degenerates into superstition and fanaticism. Both need to be in harmony for humanity to prosper. Many researchers are unaware of the spiritual writings and inadvertently validate their teachings. "Religion and Science" according to the Bahá’í writings, "are inter-twined with each other and cannot be separated. These are the two wings with which humanity must fly. One wing is not enough. Every religion which does not concern itself with science is mere tradition…. Therefore science, education and civilization are most important necessities for the full religious life."' Through religion, masses of people in all ages and lands have developed the capacity to love, to give generously, to serve others, to forgive, to trust in God, and to sacrifice for the common good. Social structures and institutional systems have been devised that translate these moral advances into the norms of social life on a vast scale. Science has enabled society to separate fact from opinion. Scientific capabilities of observing, of measuring, of rigorously testing ideas-have allowed humanity to construct a coherent understanding of the laws and processes governing physical reality, as well as to gain insights into human conduct and the life of society. In time humanity (as a whole) will mature to adopt both wings harmoniously.
