Nitrogen narcosis is very scary, mostly because you don’t realize it’s happening. When I did my deep diving course as part of my advanced open water training, they had me do simple math at the surface and timed it. Then, at about 100’ depth, you do the same math again (yes, pencils work underwater) and the instructor times you again. It took me far longer to do the math at depth, but the scary thing is that I *thought* I was doing it just as quickly. When I dived the Belize blue hole, which is about 130’ (the max recreational depth), a couple people seemed to not realize that they had gone quite a bit too far down, starting to go down almost to the bottom of the cavern that sits at about 120’. It didn’t seem like they even realized that they were doing it. You have to be really mindful of yourself when you dive!

As a lifelong animal lover (especially marine bio) and in school for zoology currently, I can assure you that moral eels aren’t that “evil” or that dangerous (just keep your guard) and the one mentioned wasn’t intentionally trying to cut the guys air lines/hoses. Moral eels are typically fearful fish and prefer to escape as opposed to attack. They will only attack if they feel threatened. My brother sees them because he’s a professional scuba diver as well. The writer of this story makes it seem like the moral eel had this whole crazy plan in its head lol

Lol they caught some blob fish! They come one of the water looking sort of like a melted face/mask on a flat circular blubbery body. However in the water, deep sea cameras catch them just looking like fish. The pressure of the water is so intense down there that it holds them in shape as opposed to them having a solid form; they can't or the pressure would crush them, so they're gelatinous instead. When you pull them up onto the surface they completely collapse into blobs. Never heard about the screaming sounds though because no scientist has ever been able to observe and write a paper on a live one I believe; they're forced to examine dead specimen.

@@Berserker_Bear95 I wouldn't expect someone who doesn't live in the states to know moose don't live in Tennessee but the person in the story supposedly lived in the states. They should've known or at least researched to make sure before they tried to pass off a fake story as real. Moose are cold climate animals. The southern United States gets extremely hot. This past June the temps climbed to 100°f which is around 38°C.
