Well, this is a rather momentous occasion - finally taking my little homebred Winnie to her first-ever event. Due to the hideous weather we have had in the UK, our prep has been anything but perfect, which did lead to a rather disastrous-looking score. However, if you put the final score on paper aside, we had the best day out, and I got a glimpse of what a truly exceptional little event horse Winnie is going to be one day. Join us as we head to Hazleton Manor for a second time this week for Winnie's first proper party

It’s so funny that Jam Bam and Winnie have got similar personalities and both are AMAZING at eventing yet Winnie doesn’t look like Jammy at all! 😂❤

She is mega. Anyone would be thrilled with that dressage test, even with a more experienced horse. The backwards feeling you get is probably a nervous thing. The warblood side when they go inward and feel stuffy but also sharp with it. If that what you feel you hide it well as she is incredible 🎉

Great job with producing Winnie up to the point that she's gotten! And I absolutely love that on that last showjump, you just smiled because you knew she tried her best and it's still a big moment to complete her first event regardless of any faults. She did absolutely great in the dressage as well! She worked hard during that event, give her a treat from me! ❤❤

Fabulous dressage , a lot of mum there , so very cute & honest . Loved the xc huge jumps over some & others travelling nicely , the water won’t be an issue when she understands it , what a mega little superstar in the making. 🤩

Aw, Whinnie reminds me waaaaaay too much of my wee cobby pony 😅❤️ Gosh she is just going to blossom the more you take her out, she was giving those jumps some serious air time!! She put out such a lovely dressage test, really kind and willing and could see how much she was trying to please. Is it too weird to say I love watching her bum jiggle in slow-mo? Wish my pony had muscle like that!! 🫣😂 Love the slightly sassy opinionated young mares, once you have them on side they’ll jump the moon for you. She’s one to watch for the future ❤️❤️

So chuffed for you!! The water was all baby!! She was really jumping well and galloping out well !! This is another one, like Wilma, that's going to be a winner in the future for you. We'll done, Winnie!! It's a great training round, again. That's how you have to look at it. I'm so chuffed for you!! A few 70 cm runs, and she'll be able to advance up to the 80 cm faster than you think!! But she definitely needs some water practice first. You rode her well, Meg, representing the water to her, and getting her to go in. So proud of you. She's so careful, too. Reminds me a lot like Jam. Oh my goodness. That little girl at the beginning of show jumping fan girling over Meg was incredibly sweet!!!!! Winn was wonderful. When she gets the idea that water isn’t going to drown her, she’ll just be amazing. She surprised us all. What a good girl!!
