​@@danitho A couple things. I still enjoy comedy and watching comedy specials. I deeply loved comedy but I wasn't too hyped about being a comic, if that makes sense. It's a rough community. People are weird and petty. I became lonelier and more unfulfilled in it the better I did. I did stand up from about 2006 -2015. I was even on a pilot for a TV show around 2007. I did well. I was getting paid feature and headlining spots pretty often, especially in Colorado where I was stationed in the Army. But it was never enough to balance the lifestyle and grief that came with it. I started DJing in 2011 and I just enjoy that so much more. I enjoy being with the music community a lot more, people are still petty and weird but I can bare it and I'm used to that brand of petty since I grew up in a musical family. I honestly never stopped writing jokes or thinking or speaking in funny. I still write jokes all the time. I get the itch all the time too. I never say never about going back to it, especially now since I'm older and have more to say, but I'm good for now.

@@luxpromusic I completely understand everything you've said! I'm a musician myself, mostly a singer but classical. So I do understand what you mean by petty and weird 😂 I work in design though, and have been in the media industry my entire career. I completely understand what you mean by weird and petty. I think anything to do with entertainment, like Comedy/Film/TV has it's own little world that requires a LOT to live it it! Thank you for sharing this though! Was super interesting to read! @@danitho Exactly. I'm a designer too actually. And yeah, It's going to be weird and petty in any entertainment field, I'm just way more use to musician and DJ pettiness. I've watched my parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents deal with it my whole life. Also, I come from a family of gospel and quartet singers, so there isn't much with music folk I hadn't seen already growing up. Comedian pettiness is a different animal tho. Even the bookers were bullies since so many of them were failed or working comics themselves. Granted, I still have a few lifelong friends from standup but it can be a toxic environment.
