You are actually engaging in my favorite activities when on the road. I have a gas powered Winnebago. My holding tank is used as a coolant so whenever I am driving my water is heating. I just love to pull over in a truck stop or rest stop and have a meal, get a nice warm shower, take my animals out for a walk and get back on the road.

I’m just beginning an adventure in a 2018 59K, & i envy your lithium-ion power. But so far I’m doing well with the generator, thanks to your video advice. I’m a 76-yr old semi-retired social security disability attorney who does telephonic hearings. I spent one awesome night in a Harvest Host vineyard & one week in a middle Keys inexpensive boutique campsite with most amenities. Truma hot water elec-propane is perfect for me. I do a few things different. Whatever I make it stop I usually try to go for a 15 to 30 minute walk to prevent blood clots in the legs. I never let my pet outside it's too easy to pick up bugs and then bring them inside the unit. I also Philip everything even the propane each day. Many times at this truck stop you'll find somebody who wants to wash the vehicle and clean it on the outside, I like to have mine cleaned at least once a day, I think it looks so much better Stellar when things are clean.

This video really shows well what the 59gl is like full timing it. I have one myself and I can attest it's very accurate what you showed. Only thing this didn't show is chores as I call them you do on daily and weekly basis. Cleaning daily...vacuuming etc. Grocery unboxing and freezer bagging. If your type of person looking at full timing class b and think your going to have tons of time on your hands, in reality that's not the case in my experience there is always something to prep do or maintain. Don't get me wrong I have "off days" but coming into this life I didn't think it's nearly as involved then what it is.

Thanks for posting this, it is videos like this that remind me why I don't want a small 21-22 ft long class B, and makes me want to stick with my 28 ft class A. With those extra 7 feet I get 80 gallon fresh water tank, 40 gal black, and 40 gal gray tanks, vs 18 gal fresh, 11 black 15 gray on the Travato, as well as a 6x6 ft dry bath with a 32 inch neo-angle shower, and nearly double the GVWR (17,000 vs 9,350), to go along with all that added weight capacity I get a 32 gall propane tank, vs 6 gallon on the Travato, ... Sure the Travato gets much better fuel economy, and will fit into the length of a standard parking space, but so can mine (sort of) if I can back in and overhang the curb, sticking out no more than a large pickup truck does when nose in. To each their own, and I understand the desire to fit into a small RV, but it is just too many compromises for me, to be just a few feet shorter.

Each to their own..is exactly why manufacturers make different lengths and models. A 21'-22' class B provides a flexibility that the larger RV's don't. It's a matter of RV'g style.

What a great idea to stretch those tiny tanks by using the truck stops. You might could have added one more thing to the list...I've heard some truck stops have washing machines...might could have done the laundry too! Anyway, great example of time efficiency! Another big thumbs up!!!

The more I watch you & Kevin, I’m convinced on the Travato GL 😄 is the best choice for me. I love the airstream interstate GT, but the Volta system is in a league of its own. Stay safe and keep up the good work. Oh, PS ⛽️ is sooo cheap! I pay $4.39 on Big Island Hawaii

@@gosmall.livelarge Oh Scott. The list is long...I'm trying to get ready for a cross country trip next week. I have a 2020 59G, which was bought in January and taken on one short trip (only 3000 miles on it). Due to COVID-19, no trips since then. My biggest frustration is finding the information in the two Operator's Manuals (Does anyone else struggle with finding the information you need)? Are there better sources for information besides this fabulous blog? There seems to be quite a few bells and whistles on these rigs, but unless you were told about them during orientation (which is overwhelming at a certain point), they may go unused/unnoticed. Frustrations today: 1). Why do the lights on the rear view mirror keep blinking (it's sitting in my driveway right now)? I know it's probably a signal for something, but where do I read up on this?? I can't find anything in the manuals. 2) The bathroom lavatory sink is completely clogged since I bought the rig. Probably construction trash, but no warranty work scheduled until September because of CV-19. I've tried baking soda/vinegar, a mini snake and a mini plunger...no can do The manual is not helpful. Any suggestions peeps? I realized that trial and error will be a good teacher; and yes, I'm an impatient perfectionist. If you haven’t done so already, request to be a member and once your are a member, use key word searches to find options for your issues. KZfaqrs like me can be a good source, of course. Yeah that’s why I would like a B van. The Volta system is nice. I really like the 2021 Revel that now has lithium. Plus 4wd. Yeah it’s definitely worth stopping at a rest stop to get all that done with free street camping. 10 bucks plus gas is cheap living. Love your freedom. Great video 👍🏼

Tip: notice how the video seems to turn greenish, then brownish, then greenish... the white balance is changing. I'm not sure if iPhones allow you to, but if you can, set it instead of using Auto. Look into Filmic Pro, it's a great video app for mobile phones.

When I charge other things in my Travato do I always have to turn on the inverter I didn't know about that until this video still learning

But your always talking about how Embassy RV is great too. Would you buy an Embassy RV? Why am I asking you this is because they dont offer much layout possibilities. In my point of view Winnebago is way better. Until Embassy RV offers more... What is your toughts on this Scott?

The ECO mode for the Truma water heater does not get the water so scorching hot. However, we use more water to rinse in the shower with that setting. It takes a stronger flow to get the water hot enough to rinse.

Hi Scott I live vicariously through you and other RV people. One thing I was wondering about is why don't RV manufacturers use a cinderella toilet? Seems to me if you had one of those toilets you could do away with the black tank and have a larger water tank and gas tank and be able to boon dock longer.

I wonder your solar does it help charge your Batteries simultaneously while driving or the alternator only?

Solar helps, but it is mostly irrelevant with the Volta system. Driving is the fastest way to charge. Appreciative your question. Sure you looking at lithium equippped RVs?

Thanks for talking about the cost. gas and dumping. Would be interested in knowing more about the cost for dumping various places and what kind of places offer dumping/filling, cost of gas/mile and LP costs when you fill. And, where you find to fill LP. Also, what do paid campsites include ie electric, cable, wifi, etc? If not included in the cost of overnight parking, how much do those cost in addition? This was a very good info video!!! Thanks

waste tank dumping is usually $15-$20. RV park sites usually include electricity, water, sewer, WiFi, and cable tv

I am absolutely dying for this lifestyle. I'm a photographer and would love to travel like this. But, I am 6'2 . Do you think a GL would be accommodating for someone my height?

Hey Terry... You will love this lifestyle! The Promaster is the shortest interior height of the 3 chassis, with Transit being the tallest. The van has 74” of interior height through the cabin and 70” at the step up area under the dining table. You might be a little squished in head room. Best way to check your comfort level is to get in a Travato and walk about inside.

Great video showing the benefits of the Travato GL. We were traveling near Rockport TX this weekend. I had the AC on in the back for my dog. When I got out the guy stared at my Travato and asked "Do you have AC on in the back?" Love my Volta. I haven't used the dump stations at truck stops but nice to know that they are there. I noticed that Kansas has them at them at some of their rest stops and they are free. Have you spent the night at a truck stop?

Hi Tim. You ask a great question. I will answer more fully on this week’s What’s Up Wednesday!? KZfaq Live show. Join us at 6 PM CT this Wednesday for full details. BLACK TANK PROCESS: Empty when nearly full. Use sanT-flush to rinse tank. Put on toilet bowl of water into empty tank. Flush one toilet chemical packet into tank. Good to go for the next 6-7 days.

I use the build tin San-T-Flush tank wash system that is built into my Travato. Rinse the black tank after emptying. Then disconnect and empty grey water tank.

It looks a bit overwhelming, there must be a learning curb. I appreciate your video, I am a years or out, but keep looking at a Travato. I like that your shower is spacious. Is the a separate space for another sleeping space for a quest?

Yes, the 59G floor plan can sleep up to four people, depending on size of the people . The dinette converts quickly into a 4’x6’ bed
