My first year in the Army was in 1993. I met Gen Powell his last year when he retired. He visited my Ammo bunker at the ASP. He found me and asked me about my work and and my family at home. He gave me a challenge coin. Great man…

Colin Powell is overrated, he was part of the swamp. He and his boss (GW Bush) lied, cheated trying to get U.N. to vote for Iraq war, making up WMD as excuses. He was a poster boy for identity politics. The only reason he was famous was due to his ethnicity.

We lost a good man , an understatement for sure, a four star general, a former United States General, medals given for honor it goes on, highly decorated general who we were so lucky to have especially after 9-11. With his quiet demeanor, dignity, poise, intelligence, he rose to the top , played an important part after 9-11 in helping to strategize the beginning of the war with Iraq. We lost a “good man” but more than that an example of a highly decorated general with such great humility, that always struck me , about Colin Powell what quiet dignity this man possessed , he will be sorely missed and go down in our future history books as “ a great man who possessed that quiet dignity” RIP General Colin Powell , may you rest easy, when God welcomed you He must have said “ Job well done”. My sympathies I offer the entire Powell family in their time of sorrow God Bless the family to gently “let go peacefully”.

@@cynthiahusband106 -A four star general that lied about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction. Nothing was found and your four star general never had the balls to admit he was wrong. History will remember him and so will the mothers of military men who died in the war against Iraq. I lost a few friends and some of them suffer from PTSD. I'm just glad I didn't join the military after High School mid 90s, other wise this war criminal would have sent me to war in 2001 under Bush's administration. Colin Powell is a four star general, but I happen to like four star generals than don't lie.

Remember the people who serve you work hard and I always left a perfume from our country a.long with the tip for the lady who cleaned our room. When he was the Joint Chief of Staff the Airforce bombed Iraqi infrastructure during the Gulf war. This led to tens if not hundreds of thousands of deaths in the 90s. General Powell was not only a fine and good man, he was wise. He treated his subordinates and especially his Personal Protection Detail with respect and humor. I will miss him.

@@JD-lt7uv I would hope the Secretary of State and the former leader of the Armed force would be able to tell if it was bad intelligence. Ad even if he really was fooled, he still bears responsibility for the millions of Iraqis killed, maimed, and displaced by the war he helped start.
