Not sure what modifications were made by Graflex apart from a different name plate. This is a Model 200, with lesser quality shutter and 3 element lens, like the basic Ciroflex (Model A). Graflex also sold the Model 400, which had a better 4 element lens and the Wollensak Rapex shuitter, which is a beast (reliable!). Both lens types were made by Wollensak. The reason for the 85mm lens focal length is that increasing from the 75mm focal length more common to this type of camera allows the triplet lens to perform significantly better than it would at 75mm. Wide open at 3.5 - very soft. Closed down to 8.0 - more than acceptably sharp for the MF format. For those who would acquire, the Ciroflex/Grafles models were built out of stamped sheet metal and give a very cheap feeling compared to the chassis build from Rollei, Yashica, etc., but they function as well. Nice video of common but rarely discussed camera.

Supposedly some different gear materials but I've never been inside one to confirm. That makes a TON of sense on the triplet. I never thought of that. Appreciate the insight! It's really a nice camera for what it is. It's nothing ground breaking like you said, but it's solid for what it is and they never get much love.
