In 2012, Bob Simon first profiled the tennis star for 60 Minutes, traveling with him to Serbia to meet Djokovic's first coach and visiting his grandfather's apartment building, where his family sought refuge during the war.
"60 Minutes" is the most successful television broadcast in history. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 and is still a hit, over 50 seasons later, regularly making Nielsen's Top 10.

I have been watching tennis since the late 1970s, and Novak's 2011 US Open title run was one of the most impressive I have seen in my 45 years as a tennis fan. He cam back from 2 sets down to beat Roger Federer, successfully defending two match in the fifth set, and followed that incredible win by defeating defending champion Rafael Nadal in the final.

Everyone showering Novak with praise here in the comments and rightly so. But I think my biggest admiration is for his childhood coach Jelena. To see what she did in a 5 year old and to act with such conviction on that, to persuade the parents who were unbelieving, and just her approach with the music and literature is amazing. She is the architect of the greatest tennis player of all time. Her energy is just contagious and reminds me of my grandmother - the typical type of old balkan woman that is charismatic AND genuinely wise. How can you not like her?

The amount of ignorance shown towards Serbia in this clip by the host/writers is mind-boggling.

I don't understand why are you upset? The only time they wrote about us was during the war, and the world indeed said that it was our fault and imposed sanctions on us. Even Russia. Do I think that it's our fault, of course not. But did their media say that it was our fault, yes. Why would you expect anything different now?

Not ignorance, they know very well who we are and that's why they hate us. They would rather they be the ones dominating everything and for the other countries to live in squalor according to the stereotype. As soon as there are people rising to the top of their respective fields and refuse to kneel and serve their nation and interests. If Novak had accepted that offer to play for the UK I bet you these liberal journos would love him. But no, the tolerant left is the most condescending force on the earth no matter how progressive they claim to be.

As i keep on saying, Nole is BEYOND THE GOAT! He has NO negative in his personality, in his character. A very much a family man, more so that he & wife, Jelena are expecting their 3rd baby. I'm sure Stephen & Tara are excited expecting their sister or brother. It is this character/personality of Nole that endears him to his millions of fans, and daily more fans (used to be fans of the other two), are switching to Novak. All I can say Nole, continue to be YOU! We love you 💘 ❤❤❤❤❤❤😅😊

You can be a true fan of Federer or Nadal (I'm fan of Fed) but you can't disrespect the man and the achievments of Nole! The GOAT debate will never be closed because everybody have his own definition of the GOAT, but I can't understand people who hates Novak and pretend to be Tennis fan! If you are a bit fair, you must respect him for the player he is, but also for the person he is!

Watching this in 2023 after his 60 Minutes interview. He was so much younger back then, obviously, he still had that youthful glow in his eyes. Now he has matured, physically and mentally, and no longer has that shine, but is still the best. The fact that he kept on winning all these years - in 2012 and in 2023 when both these interviews were made, that is phenomenal. But, so much political b...shit was said about Serbia and the wars in Yugoslavia. The usual Western narrative. Really sickening. There were so many factors that lead to the breakup of Yugoslavia, that an average American would not even begin to understand. But, we are all used to the fact that Americans see everything as black and white, good guys and bad guys. Real life is much more complicated, with many nuances in between.

God loves you and takes care of you so that this message reaches you. God is the one who created this great universe and has complete control over it. And the greatest loss that a person loses in this life is that he lives while he does not know God who created him, knowing the Messenger of Muhammad, the last of the messengers, and the Islamic religion, the last of the heavenly religions. The great intelligence, before you believe in something or not, is to read it, study it, and understand it well, and then you have the choice to believe in it or not. I advise you on this now before you do not have time to do that.

Jesus Christ is the only lord and savior. His blood was shed for all of us on cross. We sin with our hands/deeds, he got nail in his hands, we sin in the dark allies we go to, he got a nail in his feel, we sin with our minds and dirty thoughts, they put thorns on his head, we stab each other in the back and carry so much sin on our backs, he was whipped badly on his back. Even in Quran Jesus is the only one referred to as the WORD of God. Look it up my friend. Even in Quran, Jesus is the only one born differently. You wonder why? He’s the word of God, who came to this world to fix what Adam and you and I messed up. His blood covers us all. Now you seek and you ask, you shall receive. God paid for our sins so we could be in God’s presence. No one is sinless or clean or even deserve to be in God’s presence therefore someone of pure blood had to pay for our sins and cover us with his blood and that one certainly isn’t a human being but it’s God himself. It’s all his plan. You just ask God to reveal to you the truth, and I guarantee you, you’ll find out.
