That's kind of the case with most necromorphs though.

Sucks to be the Guardians in Dead Space 3 which have been there for what like two hundred years and STILL screaming. (Also no, most necromorphs are not conscious in that way anymore since they were made from either just the biomass, or bodies that were already dead. Hence the "necro" in necromorphs. Guardian is kinda the exception, or one of few anyway.)

Horror movies already don't get much of a budget. A video game movie usually gets even less. There's no way a movie like this would get made, especially since that movie would be tied to EA, who never had faith in this series hence why they made the devs poop out DS3 and then dissolved them into part of the EA zombie slave army.

Dead Space was inspired by Event Horizon and mixed with The Thing so can watch that a little of those 2.

I agree. I REALLY want to see the commander in action, calling slashers and twitchers at you, while being incredibly tanky and unstoppable in melee.

I agree the first one was straight horror and scared the crap out of me every second. The second felt more like an action-horror. While still scary you expected when it would be scary.

I thought the second was scarier because there's just more. Insurmountable odds makes things seem more scarier to me for some reason.

The games toned down the subtle horror in every iteration and replaced it with more action setpieces, I find. Therefore, first one is scariest to me due to the atmosphere, second one a good balance, and third one a regular dumb action shoot fest. Which can be fine, but not what I expected from the series.

The first one was scaries becasue everything was new, in 2 i had some experience on how to deal with them.

I think the second one aged MUCH better

The game is scary but I un-intentionally removed the horror factor by thinking about everything comically. Hell, I found a hole, deemed it "the body hole" and dumped all the bodies in there for fun lol And I would shoot the blades off slashers, and use kineses to throw it back at them multiple times lol

I can see that, I don't really get unnerved by normal zombies. Things like the Flood, Necromorphs, Las Plagas, that unnerves me because it's literally another life form infesting you and making you their meat puppet. I personally prefer to play zombie games where I'm not meant to be powerless though. Left4Dead is more my style, I like going full Doom Slayer.

Just wondering, cause it fascinates me why anyone would be scared of something more than the others. The necromorphs that look human are more scarier imo, than the ones made of alien parts. Idk what it is. To me, I guess it's like less believable to actually happen as opposed to seeing one made of human parts and flesh, so in my mind; I'm like, oh, that could happen if xyz happened and was real. Lol I've also played the left for dead one where you're on an island, and I find that pretty fun and realistic. Obvious, there's other factors that make it less, cause zombies aren't real lol, but as far as compared to COD zombies, they are much more believable as being a real life outbreak, than having some scientist practice occult magic go wrong, or whatever. Lol so I enjoyed playing that game, and am glad that thats one of the games I've played by myself but at any point can still have a heart race cause of how in frequent an encounter can happen or how they have to repair their weapons etc. Instead of having a fire sale with laser guns. Although, I loved cod zombies so much! Lol one of the best things to play with people that know the maps and how to survive long. Even played a lot of the dlc content too, and totally worth it imo. Are there any other games you rec with a monster kill or survive theme?

@@MattFromHawaii I guess dead island dying light resident evil 4 is on VR now. Obviously the first 3 Halo games due to the Flood. The Original Mass Effect Trilogy becomes that way (Cyborg Zombies) as the story goes on though I wouldn't necessarily call it survival Horror. For me, it's more frightening because we've always wondered why aliens aren't a thing yet, and them being zombies and the zombie thing being transmutable to other forms of life as well and it's just been a grotesque time bomb waiting thousands of years to go shoulder deep on all of us is more existentially terrifying than urgently terrifying as human zombies trying to kill me.

@@MattFromHawaii oh not really facing zombie monsters or whatever but Condemned 1&2 are very good psychological survival Horror games. Think ODST but you're not a badass, just kind of a nerdy but capable FBI forensic analyst hunting a serial killer while fending off drug addled psychopaths in the dark.

So hearing the fears and why is interesting to me from an inquisitive pov 🤔 I've also never played some of the games you've mentioned so that's pretty cool to look into.
