This is exactly what I said the other day. It’s lovely watching Sean’s videos. He’s wholesome, comical, down to earth. And his pace of life is how I remember things from growing up in the 70’s and 80’s. I find watching him very therapeutic. ❤

Watching your channel is helping me through the loneliness of loosing my husband and waiting through the last week for my dear sister to come through an aneurysm and other issues. Seeing you progress from one step to the next is calming . And I like what you said previously,”Do a little bit often” I like that, and then go have a tea. You make me smile either way all your TEA.

Did you ever hear of the saying? If it's not broke, don't try to fix it. The door is fine. You can put a little cat flap in the bottom. Saw a little hole, paint the door to tone colors. It would look beautiful and you will save money.😊

Your back garden is desperate for some compost to fill up the dropped soil levels (which drop even more every time you pull out another thistle or thicket of grass etc & leave a huge hole) & will improve the soil. Watching with interest to see how it turns out eventually.

I didn't read all 258 comments, so apologies if someone else has already mentioned it: You don't need to buy another door to put a cat flap in. Look online for a cat flapt that fits your current door (= depth of the actual door), and then just saw out the hole in the size that is described in the leaflet. I did that for my cats too, and it works perfectly. A LOT less expensive that buying a new door! ;)

Weather overcast in Essex today was a lovely day yesterday. Abit chilly now. Enjoyed watching you in the garden, once your sweet peas, start growing your arch will look great. If you put up some extra shelving in your cupboard under the stairs. You could have a larder for tin food etc.for the winter, so if the weather gets really bad you have stuff to fall back on. If the rain keeps off will be pottering around garden. Where I live will be full of day trippers so I will Potter about at home.

I use pink Himalayan salt. I read it is low in sodium for blood pressure, but high in minerals. Much healthier than table salt. I have used Cornish sea salt as well. Your grinders are “butiful” Sean, I like the natural wood rather than Perspex. 👌It’s fine and sunny in Lancashire this morning after the heavy rain we have had the past couple of days, so I will get out into the garden this afternoon after shopping, to plant some more veg and herbs and I have a pink blueberry to get in place as well. We are behind here in the garden due to bad weather, but things will catch up I’m sure. Like you - slow and steady wins the race.

I can see that the head of your door frame is slightly out of level, I have done lots of doors that are much worse than this. you would have to plane top of door to suit if you don't want to mess with the frame. I would probably replace the head of the frame but I am a carpenter so it's easy for me to say, also it looks like there is a pipe and a cable on the left hand side so that makes it difficult. 6'6" x 2'6" is the nearest available size, should be ok, its normal to take an inch off the height, it looks like there is a fairly large gap on the right hand side so I suspect that the opening is more like 29.5" or so. best to measure with a proper tape measure to check.

Whilst enjoying the visit to The Little Walsh Cottage, I often wonder how many cups of tea are being made and enjoyed as we all get comfy to sit and watch. I absolutely love your channel Sean. This one had me and hubby saying… “Be careful Sean you’ve caught the plant in the window!” And general interacting with you as you talk to us all. Could you imagine all the voices chatting back to you? Almost makes me want to bake a bigger Victoria sponge. The sweet-peas are going to look so lovely when they start to climb and are in full bloom and I for one am looking forward to watching along with everyone as they do. Im an amateur gardener and love to potter about I’ve picked up some wonderful tips from you so thank you so much. The Weather over here on the East coast of Lincolnshire is pretty much the same as yours over there in Wales. We are pottering hopefully this weekend although everyday is a holiday now hubby and I took early retirement. So have a super lovely weekend give Topsy & Amber lots of love from all us lot out here. What that’s I hear?!! Oh! The kettles is on time for a cup of tea… beautiful. Love the two old farts over here. ❤

Memorial Day weekend for those of us in the USA. Memorial Day is supposed to be a day of reflection and a reminder of those that died during war but many people just see it as a day off to be able to go out and barbecue and not work. It's kind of lost it's meaning for many. I know I will probably get some delivery driving in over the weekend as well as a few tasks around the house. It's raining on and off right now so plans will change by the hour! Trying out the soap and candles thing as well, though I'm a bit more utilitarian than some of the artisans out there (keep to plain styles and nice fragrances). Some of the artists make some really pretty soaps, but I don't think I have the patience for that. Keep it simple!

@connydm729 When you say, “I went down a rabbit hole”, it men’s; It took a lot longer than you thought it would. You meant to just go here, look for this…. But, as you went to look for one thing- there were branches or tunnels and it took led you to many other findings, which led you to more findings and it seemed never ending. Hope that makes sense. It’s not a bad thing, rather a fascinating route of discovery. Another saying, kind of like that, here in US- “I went to do one thing, and I had to do 10 more”.
@lancslass8
@lancslass8 Ай бұрын
@@connydm729 The author Lewis Carroll introduced the phrase as the title for chapter one of his 1865 novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, after which the term slowly entered the English language. Going down a rabbit hole is a situation in which you become more and more interested in something and cannot stop doing it or finding out about it. In the comment made about soap, it was meant that once he started to buy her products, he could not stop buying them.

I remember drinking council pop (tap water) in my grandmother’s house in the 70’s. It tasted chemically to me, it was horrible. I’ve stayed in a hotel in Harrogate. They provided us guests with bottled water. I don’t recall seeing the water being a funny colour in the bathroom though. When I lived in Swansea we used to get muddy water in the summer, I used to stock up on bottled water every summer.

Hello Sean, interesting video watching the variety of planting you have done , how well they have come on. I plant sweetpeas and after a fashion build the wigwam style frame it always looks crooked but the sweetpeas find a way and give a good show.Thats the main thing . I'm not one for formal gardening, my front garden makes my neighbours stop to look even people I don't know comment on my garden of colourful plants some in no dig beds I laid soil and compost onto the concrete, I have Mahonia shrubs and orange blossoms shrub to miniature roses palm trees in containers many varieties in containers mostly seasonal. a shady place to sit and a water feature I made myself , solar light at night give a nice glow winter or summer, birds love the blossoms I feel blessed just relaxing there watching in the late evening as the sun dips behind the neighbouring roof tops after a peaceful hour with a cuppa, listening to blackbirds last song of the day. "Beautiful " Keep at it Sean you will achieve your goal, There's always time for a "cuppa tea" along the way.👏🌹💚

Hello Sean, I use german rock salt and sea salt. And I always make a mix of peppercorns to use. So I can use differend kinds. Here in my part of germany it was up to 28 Celsius in the last to weeks, to warm for my taste but I was able to plant out beans ( pole and bush ), tomatos,basil, peppers, chilli, honey nut, zucchini, cucumbers, melons and tomatollos. The last days it got a bit cooler, we have had rain and thunderstorms. We are down to 20 Celsius and the cats enjoy sleeping on the sofa. Hope you have a lovly weekend. ❤

In Tasmania we are in Autumn, it’s been very very chilly … 3-10 during day and down to 1 at night, going to be a very cold winter this year, i remember my mother putting salt with peas when she boiled them 😂… she was heavy handed using it on everything

Weather is the same here in the Far north of Scotland, summer came and went. I am not a salt person either never bother to use it but love pepper. Hope you do get around to making your own soap, especially lavender I would buy it. You have acquired some lovely pieces of antique furniture what a lovely home you are making for yourself and "the Twins". great video as usual.

Iodine sea salt or Himalayan salt in our household (table salt is not natural and very toxic). Black pepper is good for our health, we also use cayenne pepper (from the chilli plants) and turmeric and fresh ginger. All 5 'spices' are excellent for health.

In the US, Monday is Memorial Day, when we honor fallen military, so a three-day weekend here as well. In Denver, Colorado, the weather will be perfect-mid 70s, maybe a little rain.

I use sel de Guérande for cooking and Maldon for adding to food ready to eat. I have white continue flowering now and the smell is divine. My lavender is just about to burst out. I have had French lavender papilion blooming for a few weeks now. I moved from a large rural garden in Norfolk last year after my partner died. I bought a new build so you can imagine how my gardening experience has changed. We had extensive veg beds and were no-dig gardeners. Have you been to a Charles Dowding open day - usually in September? Well worth a visit. Your little garden is coming along nicely. The arbour for the sweetpeas fits in well.
