There's also that both Espeon and Umbreon are forcefully male in Colosseum, and with Ditto being completely unaccessible until FRLG, it made it impossible to get an Eevee by breeding. The whole eevee line is wack in gen 3.

I debated talking about this, too!! It was a dark time for 8 year old me trying to figure out how to get Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon in Ruby from my Colo Espeon/Umbreon before FR/LG dropped

Matt, you gotta add a horse jumpscare warning! I was NOT prepared at all, and I ended up tripping and falling down a flight of fifty stairs, where the horse was waiting for me... I lost my dignity, and my venonat wallet. The horse took both, and has since fled. Edit: after I posted this comment, I went into temporal tower on my PMD:EOS save and the room I spawned into was a monster house, I blame the horse. Congrats on the shiny eevees, btw!

See, I didn't know this. I remember as a kid staying up all night, fighting the news duo over and over again, trying to get an umbreon. I got a damn espeon instead. Good thing I got away with it!

My guess is is that it's because most of AM is at night while most of PM is in the day (though that theory is heavily based on where you live in the world tbf)

Well done! Loved seeing the Lenin LSD dream emulator rock! Theres actually a special rock at the ol' PNT on Sunday afternoons ;D In regards to ur emerald's clock, while swapping the battery does "restart" the clock, in order to get things moving like berries growing, you'd unfortunately need to either edit the internal clock with an external device of some kind, or restart the save file to begin the clock naturally. I actually spent a couple of weeks figuring out how to properly reset the clock post-battery-swap AND be able to keep my save file! It uses a 3DS R4 cart with PKMN chest on an original DS, but it works! Berries can grow and I can keep things original! I wont be doing it to all of my games, since I do kinda like the dry battery for mirage island hunts and potential ring manips, but it's great to have the option! But do stay away from battery holders for GBA cartridges! We ended up shattering one of my copies of Sapphire from the holder sticker out too far off of the board. :( ended up ordering a bootleg cart shell and dremelling out a hole in the face of it for the battery to stick out. Not very graceful, but it runs XD Also loved seeing pokemon box and the gamecube gear! Can't wait to see more!

Wish me luck as I'm soft resetting for shiny Ho-Oh in heart gold for my Dream Team Dice quest. So far my team of shinies is Typhlosin, meganium, miltank, kingdra girafarig and Murkrow. (Haven't been able to roll the dice yet for a shiny totodile 😅) These were all shinies either freshly radar hunted, masuda method bred or random encountered like the girafarig and Murkrow. HM slaves don't count for this play through but I still love my shiny Furret and the red gyarados makes a great water slave.

What’s up with that Japanese Sapphire cartridge with the art of Kyogre, Brendan and the aqua grunts on it? I got one of those cartridges a few years ago but I always just assumed it was a funky bootleg. I didn’t even know more existed!

I love the effect you did with the star across multiple GBA SPs. Shiny Espeon always weirds me out because it looks like an alien version of itself or something lol I love Espeon otherwise. Especially when they have their hidden ability Magic Bounce. The blue glow of shiny Umbreon is really cool and is definitely my favorite shiny change for the Eevee evolutions. Happy Thanksgiving!

Espeon is my favorite pokemon, Congrats on the shiny! In gen3 or at least from your recording it almost likes like lime color really nice. In the newer games it's more of a nuclear-puke green and I don't like it as much despite being my favorite pokemon :/ Thanks for the vids as always!

I honestly don’t get why gen 3 is the only gen to not have day and night system. At least not visibly. It’s my favorite gen (RSE specifically) but I just wish it had that bc day/night system is one of the things I love most about Pokemon games. It was probably because of the original GBAs lack of a back light. Most GBA games had to use very bright color pallets so that you could actually see whats going on, having a night time with a darker color pallet would make things much less visible.

It just gets worse when you remember the internal batteries of RSE run dry and stop time forever, therefore meaning that in those games, unless you start a new save file and dictate a desired time, you will only be able to get an Espeon OR Umbreon, depending on what the time was.

Probably something you don't care about BUT, if you did (and on the off chance anyone else does) uh, if you ever wanted to try and name something in Japanese 1) the Japanese names for pokemon are on bulbapedia, so you have a fast reference to what characters to use right there (so for Nyarth u just go to Meowth's page and, boom ニャース is right there at the top of the page). Alternatively 2) Wikipedia has a chart for all the katakana characters (which is what's used for the names, they also have one for hiragana, but katakana is the one u want for names) so u can just, look them up there one by one. Either of these methods will make going through the Japanese characters a lot less time consuming.

Shiny espeon is my favorite pokemon of all time. Espeon was the first pokemon i ever ev trained, and that thing was a beast. I lost her, but i always evolve one eevee into espeon and name it ESPurr in his honour!!!

I can proudly say that this is truly a 668 - The Evolution Oddity of Espeon and Umbreon in Gen III (I shiny hunted them, too) moment! Ironically I was also hunting eevee (Eevee Everywhere event) when this came out, so it's like the moon and the sun and the earth aligned and combined!

Straight up did not know they could evolve in the GBA games At All, I thought the literal ONLY way to get them was to trade from Coloseum or evolve your starter Eevee in XD. Huh Congrats on the sucessful hunt(s)!!
