Nice job on the whole project. Cost money to money to have a nice usable product and you would have no problems making your money back and then some on it.

found your channel a few days ago and have enjoyed every minute of this swap, coming from the same swap into my ranger it has been interesting seeing the similarities and differences id say the biggest difference is ive got about a tenth of the cost in my project, mainly because near everything was "bolt on" and "plug n play". I do envy your clearance for headers that my 4x4 system robbed me of.

Money well spent, good job done. 👍. I wish the 1968 I owned in 1975 had been a V8, the 200 ci straight 6 with a 3 speed manual box ran out of breath at an indicated 88mph. It was okay for my purpose, looked great in Candy Apple red with a black vinyl roof which turned many heads here in the UK.
@noboltsleftbehind

That must have been a cool car to have in the UK. Those I6s were nice and torquey from what I’ve heard, I would have kept mine but they’re pretty hard to come by in good condition nowadays.
@85waspnest
@85waspnest 2 ай бұрын
@@noboltsleftbehind Yes the 6 had plenty of low down torque and rarely did less than 22mpg (UK gallon). I saw the car advertised privately for £600 with part exchanges considered. I had a 1968 MGC convertible (the 3 litre version of the MGB) and we did a straight swap. Mustangs were a rare sight at the time with most privately imported. There are more to be seen now as they're available new from certain Ford dealers in right hand drive UK spec. I loved my '68, no frills, easy to work on, relatively cheap to run, comfortable, spacious, and great to look at with the long shark nose front, short tail and pillarless. The negatives - Drum brakes, recirculating ball steering, rear leaf spring suspension..... adequate at best. Left hand drive could be a problem when overtaking and the vinyl seats made my back soaked with sweat in hot weather. My perfect '68 Mustang would be a 289 or 302 V8 auto converted to RHD with modern brakes etc., cloth seats and aircon. I keep seeing 68s advertised from £15k for an unrestored in reasonably good condition, to £40k + for a well restored from specialised dealers. Al sadly over my budget.

excellent. Thank God that you were able to basically begin with a rust free car. My added cost is Floor pans, battery tray, battery side inner fender, radiator core support. I to am swapping an explorer drive line into a classic Mustang. Mine however is a 66 A code Signal Flare red with factory 4 speed. It needed a lotta TLC and did NOT have a Engine when I began. I still have a long way to go. Wish me luck. 😁

I’ve been there man, I know exactly how that goes. I got very lucky with the Mustang, but I had a lot of rust problems to deal with my Challenger. Good luck sir, you’ll get it sorted out and and the plus side is after you’re done you’ll know 100% you have a good solid car 👍

I have a 68 Mustang as well, needless to say that made your project even more interesting to me. If you were to sell the car you would make a profit for sure. What is not accounted for are the HOURS you spent doing the build. In short, parts are cheap it's the labor that kills. Over 10 years I've spent about 20K in parts but have installed almost everything myself. My only concern is rust. If the underside and door skins are rust free you're golden. Overall great job.
