I want to compliment you Firas. Joe Rogan said one time that you are the best martial arts teacher of all time and I definitely agree. I have learned a lot from your jujitsu videos. Explaining the details behind your moves really helps me and so do all your instructional videos. You have helped me on my jujitsu journey and I want to thank you. I am a brown belt and I have watched you from the beginning. Please produce more of these type of videos. You are an awesome teacher and good man. Thank you brother! 🤙🙏

Can you teach/show a video on the side choke? I haven't really seen too many good videos on it
@hermixtonen
@hermixtonen Ай бұрын
I have a question - around the 10:50 mark you are applying the side choke, and you have his left arm captured in the choke . The Danaher instructionals I have watched on this say that all he would have to do to defend it is get his hands together in a gable grip and then drive his left elbow south towards his left hip. So Danaher advises that when you apply the side choke you make sure that the arm you have trapped in the choke is actually against the ground (this makes it difficult for him to drive his elbow to his hip , as the elbow gets wedged against the ground). So, in this example of your side choke , wouldn’t it have been better to do a sort of chair sit and roll him over towards your left so that his trapped arm (his left arm ) would be on the ground and unable to drive to his left hip ? I was expecting you to do that , but you went ahead and finished with his trapped arm (left arm ) on the high side and not wedged against the ground . I hope I have explained this sufficiently. Can you give me your thoughts ? Very appreciated

Which of John’s instructionals teaches the side choke?
@hermixtonen
@hermixtonen Ай бұрын
@@rickythegangster007 I am pretty sure it is in his “Fastest Way To Increase Submissions “ (might not be the exact title , but it is in his “Fastest Way” series . Basically , he explores all the possible ways to get to the back , and the control methods , and the submissions from the back . He says that the back (and its subs ) is and always will be THE best way to go , and that if you built a game 100% on just going for , controlling during , and submitting from the back then you’d have a hell of a career
@hermixtonen

@@rickythegangster007 forgot to mention - I am not sure if he calls “side choke” or not, but it is the same technique

He could have killed my with one arm! I'm pretty sure he didn't get much out of it other than like a Cat learning to play with a bird without killing it!
