You have good conditions there guys. I recently did this in the cold, wet and windy conditions of mid - Wales (UK) with a 25 mph full value R to L wind onto a steel plate at 800 yards. With my 6.5 CM Savage mod 12 LRP in an MDT chassis I got a 3 fast shot group of 68 mm. I was using Nosler 140 grain RDF's at around 2800 fps. I've never used the 6 mm, but the 6.5 is wicked.

I noticed the way you throw your bolt compared to everyone else seems to keep the rifle on target better

GOD, I Love that rifle... Have the 6.5 creedmoor, and at the same time I purchased, had an opportunity to get a ruger precision in 6mm, was a hard decision but went with the 6.5 creedmoor.

Huge fan of both cartridges, but my choice is 6.5 Creedmore. It bucks the wind better in my area. I like the 147 ELD match under RL 26.

I’d probably choose the 6.5 Creedmoor. Retains a bit more energy and still plenty controllable

This is a cool comparison. But one thing I would point out as far as target acquisition, would be having a muzzle break on the 6mm CM which greatly impacts your ability to stay on target. With my muzzle break on my 6.5, I never lose sight picture which greatly increases back to back shot times. Same with a suppressor.

Jeremy is noticeably more settled with that 6.5 and 6. He knows his .308 obviously but when he settles in behind your rig he doesn't look rushed.

Thank You Sirs! Not to criticise, I just noticed Jeremy did not have his hand wrapped around the grip to start the 6.5 run with the A I. I figure he is most familiar with the stock on the .308. This was a great comparison between the 6 an 6.5 !

As far as initial recovery comparison, I would say it’s possible that the suppressor (mitigating recoil a bit more than a muzzle break) assisted bs the 6.5 with just the brake. But that’s just one of many variables in play.

I need to look at the ballistics differences between 6mm Creed. and the .243 Win. The 6.5 Creedmore ammo is available everywhere now that is in it’s favor.

My 243Win is 3.5mil @ 700yds. It would be interesting to see real world comparison of 243Win vs 6CM.

Maybe I'm off but it looked like the 6 was more of a snap vs the 6.5 was more of a push as far as recoil. Might be slightly more recoil but smoother recoil makes up for it?

I noticed you had that delay for the 6.5CM. Do you think that 3sec delay contributed to faster shooting? For the 6CM it seemed the shooters were more on edge not knowing when the buzzer will go off

Great demonstration you guys. I reckon I'll be sticking with my 65 Surgeon Scalpel. I have a few mates (I'm from Tasmania in Australia) who shoot 6mm and the problem they're having is with longer range, heavier targets. They are barely making these things move and it is difficult to determine an impact from a miss.

Another excellent presentation gentlemen. I’ve been shooting Ruger Percision rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor for a year and consistently shoot with my own reloads 0.50 inch 5 shot groups or less at 100 yards. This is also my 1,000 yard gun. I’m retiring next month and bought myself a new Ruger Precision in 6mm Creedmoor. Will shoot the 6mm tomorrow for the first time. Same scope, trigger, and shooter just different caliber AND only my ammunition. Nothing factory. Will let you know any differences after several trips to our range. Would you say that the 6.5 is a better hunting cal. And would you use it on elk 'stretch but some people hunt elk with a 270' making the 6.5 one of the best all round hunting cal.

I believe that your wallet does know the difference! 6 mm Creedmoor ammo is twice the price of 6.5 mm. Also the Accuracy International is an exceptional rifle that anyone would LOVE to own at a fair price. There is no denying that. I suspect that the Tikka T3X A1 (not sure if that is the model that is shown here) is great rifle at an exceptional price. What is your recommendation for someone new to the long range shooting? Love the content that you are producing. Great videos. Your presentation style makes feel like I right there among you in the group.

Still a nice comparison run. You guys need an eTarget for days like these.... It takes hits from yes/no, to how good, and there would still be data from these misses. Then, if the string were raised to four or five shots, the time stats would also show the story. Well done.

Fun video to watch. It seems to me that an average time over 10 separate 3-shot groups would be a lot more valuable.

After i run my 308 for few years im thinking about doing 6.5 creed over 6mm just for barrel life

I think the AI with the 60 degree throw and your suppressor helps with recoil management better than the brakes it looks like, makes for a overall faster rig than the other two in general, but 6cr vs the 6.5cr are soo close...Great video brother👌🤙

I'm getting into PRS next year. Right now i'm finishing up building TWO semi auto rifles. One in 6.5CM and one in 6CM. I have a LOT of experience with 6.5 and none with 6. The rifles will both have JP recoil eliminators and their LMOS BCG. One already has a silent capture spring, while the other one probably will end up with one of those as well. The 6.5 has a JP super match 22" barrel with their longest thermal dissipater. I do wonder if that will negatively affect barrel harmonics. Anyone with a thought on that? Both will have JP RC XL hand guards and arca swiss rails. The 6CM will have a 24" Proof SS barrel. So the builds are pretty similar. For triggers i'm undecided. The 6.5 has the GSSA-E curved for now and the 6 will either have the flat GSSA-E or the Hyperfire Elite which i have now and is a single stage, 1.5lb pull believe it or not. I have a Noveske SPR with the Hyperfire single stage Eclipse which has the adjustable boot and a 2.5lb pull and i really like that. So right now i'm undecided on which trigger will win the day. My other little secret is the Hiper Fire grip. I have that on my Noveske SPR and it's just awesome IMHO. Puts your finger right where it needs to be on the Eclipse trigger. Ultimately, with these two rifles being so similar, i cannot wait to compare them side by side for time and accuracy.

Shooting fast and control ones breathing with trigger control is not that compatible. Possible but difficult. Do not know if you guys watch any Biathlon. They shoot with high pulse. Pretty impressive. Best regards from Norway.

Didnt seem recoil was the problem ..it seemed the cycling of the bolt was the problem for jumping the scope

Put a brake on the 6 creed. The can is adding recoil and slowing down your time it takes to get back on target.

I would take 6.5 for windy days and 6mm for nice days.

The AI being about 4 lbs heavier than the 308 gave it an ever bigger advantage in recoil.

Making it difficult for me to choose between the 6.5 and 6 for my next long range shooter from my .308. Then hornady throws into the mix 6mm ARC. I'm not shooting for times so I'm still leaning to the 6.5 for a heavier bullet when reaching my goal of 1600m. My best is 1020m with my .308.

I wanted to get a Howa 6mm but keep reading about long throat and a accuracy problems.

There’s no doubt that 6 Creedmoor presents benefits in recoil reduction and wind drift, but the issue is shooting fundamentals. A 6mm cartridge just provides more forgiveness.

What rifle setup are you using that allows you to swap out barrels? Great video btw. I am the odd duck who has the 6mm Creed and the 6.5 PRC. I like the 6.5 Creed, but have not gotten around to grabbing one . . . yet!

What barrel length is your 6mm CM? I have a 26" factory Savage barrled action (unsuppressed) and I'm getting MV at 3036fps. Using that same 108ELDM. I'd think you would have velocities closer if not higher than 3030

I don't know I remember way back in manatee shooting range in a good day condition me and my sako trg 22 in 308 at 575 yards in a gong 3 inches diameter 10 shots 9 7 impacts I remember was a federal gold medal match . I was shooting next while the other guy was shooting a 6,5 akly impruve hi got 10 shots 10 impacts fire forming his ammo for f class . So long history short I just got me a tikka 6,5 creedmoor shoots amost one hole at 100 meters I don't really know that you can get better than that with the factory rifle I do think that fantastic

To be honest I don't think most shooters will outshoot their barrel in the life of the rifle for 6mm. For an avid shooter a barrel swap is not that big of deal. The 419 comp is def worth it as well I run it on my 6mm savage.

In the beginning - you cant compare the unsurpassed guns. Suppressors make a huge difference with a 6.5CM. I was thinking of upgrading to 6CM from 6.5CM - decided to spend the money on a suppressor since I have a few 6.5CM rifles and a ton of ammo.

6mm CM (Laser) is the Bomb...Les recoil translates to quicker recovery time that translates to sharper accuracy and those elements are the Key factors Not energy for this application!

What exactly this test for? Speed long ra g shooting?

I'm not sure there is that much of a difference in recoil but you can shoot the heavier bullet from the 6.5.

Another fantastic video. My question to you is ... the 6 mm Creedmoor Barrel life compared to the 6.5 mm Creedmoor Barrel ... is it the same or are you going to get more rounds out of the 6.5 then you would the 6 ... I think that needs to be taken into fact or factors when figuring out which round is going to be superior at least that's what I'm thinking ... what are your thoughts on this?🤔

How much could the suppressor on your rifle contribute to staying on target? I personally have not shot with one to know, but still curious since the other 6.5 doesn't have one and was slower. Also maybe you could have shot that rifle for a more controlled testing since that shooter didn't shoot yours.

My take away from this video is that training and experience matters more than the round. I could be wrong.
