Finally broke my previous personal record with a 7:21" BTG with my new Porsche 991.2 GT3RS. My previous best time was 7:34" with the 981 Cayman GT4.
Thanks to @ppg.life for pushing behind me with his Lamborghini Huracan Performante. This time he did not make me head for the grass :D

My GT3RS is completely stock with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 N1 tires. Need fresher tires and more camber to go quicker.
Most fun I had on the Nordschleife in a long time!

Very nice lap sir. You don't hold much back, that takes balls and experience at the ring. You're living a dream of mine. I'm stuck with Gran Turismo, but it's better than nothing. 😞

@@RingRennSport A long flight unfortunately, but it is on my list. When you have 3 free mins watch the video below. We don't have the ring here in the states BUT we do have a super curvy road in my area called the Tail of the Dragon. It has 318 curves within an 11 mile stretch of road. What makes it even more unique is there are no interconnected roads, private drives or anything on it, it just has pull-off areas to allow faster traffic to pass. @@RingRennSport I see your point and it's as valid as they come, but our closest track is 3 and a half hours away, plus there's a grocery list of hoops to jump through. This video was a rare occasion during daylight hours, I wanted to see if I could keep up with the bikes. We always do our spirited driving after dark when there's virtually no traffic and slow down when there's headlights in the opposite direction and until the traffic passes. We keep it in our lane and don't push beyond our limitations. Trust me, I desperately wish we had a local track.

Cool. I have to drive 3hours to get to the Nordschleife as well and drive back every time after the day is done.😉 So that’s not an excuse! Hehe just pushing you to go to the track 😂👊🏻

Mainly my free time are wkends to even think about doing a track day due to my job. I love this car! The Sound, the handling,the Optic and you have a empty Nordschleife with beautifull weather. What a dream you live there :) Awesome Laptime. I cant wait for next season. Hopefully i will be able to visit the Ring more often.

Congrats. :) Love all your driving videos, you really have some skill there. I noticed just from the start you were trying to go for a personal best. You were hauling ass from the pit exit lane haha. This car does look like a challenge to go 10/10 compared to the Cayman GT4. The Cayman looks a lot more stable. Looks like you were more comfortable throwing it hard into corners in the Cayman, but the 911 you really focus on how smooth the throttle and steering is. Very great driving for sure tho.

Great run, comparing this and your GT4 video, the GT4 seems to work the tyres harder, has better balance and seems far more planted with really no under or oversteer issues, whereas the GT3 does seem a bit looser, probably cause somewhat by the extra 100 plus horses though. The GT3 noise however, WINNING! :)

Hi, I watched a JP Performance video yesterday, in which JP interviewed the GT2 RS record driver. The driver said, they DEcreased the front downforce and INcreased the rear downforce, so that the steering is not that precise due to the many glitches on the Nordschleife. Maybe you can test that setup? You would have a bit more understeering then, but the car is more stable.

Man have I enjoyed the ride along with you, bro! You are obviously one hell of a driver. How's it feel to be only 5 seconds off of the Chevrolet ZL1 1LE time of 7:16.04? I'm a Chevy guy and have always loved the sound of a Chev V8 at full song. Having said that, the sound of the GT3 RS engine at full song is like a Beethoven symphony. Dude, I have no idea what you do for a living that allows you to own cars of this caliber at (I assume) your young age but it's way-cool. Not envious whatsoever so don't take me wrong. You da' man and your ppg Lambo buddy too. Love the videos from both of you guys. Keep up the great work!!

For GT3 RS it could be around 20 sec. But factory "Full laps" are crazy... PRO drivers, agressive alignment, you never know how OEM the car is.

Very impressive lap, congrats ! I have several questions if you're ok with it. What is the orange light on the left board ? Did you drive with ESP and TC on or not ? Did you keep the ceramic brakes ? big difference with normal brakes ? thanks a lot ! Keep pushing :p I would love a lap video from you with the gt3 RS at Francorchamps !

Thanks. Tire pressure warning light (turns on when you deflate the tires for the track) All on. Nope normal steel brakes as there are better when you track a lot + give about 5kg more downforce compared to ceramics because more air can escape the wheels. But ceramics are better for steering& handling as they are lighter. Spa will come! Want to go as well!!

WOW WOW WOW. Good job. Smooooth. Absolutely lovely lap. A joy to watch. Obviously very satisfying. Do you think that you might be getting the hang of this Nordschliefe lapping bizzo ? One request - the sun was a bit low early in the vid and towards the end of the vid - was a bit of a pain - can you please get someone to sort that sun out or something ? Perhaps move it :) Also - bad luck at 4:41. That cost some time :( What are your future plans for camber settings?

I’m wearing the 6point harness (look at my shoulders) but no Hans device as it’s not legal during tourist drives. Otherwise I would for sure. Have been driving it since 2012-13. Didn’t keep track but guessing +500 laps excluding many hours on simulator 😊

The tires where a bit overheated after 2 hot laps back to back. I think the pressure was 2.2 at the front and 2.5 on the rear. When braking hard the car slides a bit but it also something I tend to to as I want to check the grip level before committing to turn in.

Hi. Sucks a bit of hp indeed but you are way faster with it on because your brain/body stays cool. That’s why modern race cars also have AC such as the new Porsche 991 R and RSR.

Wow great time! How would you compare this car to the GT4?? Obviously its faster and the PDK makes a difference, but how to does it FEEL compared to the gt4?? Are there things you miss about the gt4? Or is the gt3 better in every way?

Jordan Maz Thanks! The GT3RS is far more tricky then the GT4. If you start pushing hard it can really bite as the GT4 is a bit more natural in the way it flows. Normal because of the perfect balance. I miss the way the GT4 could flow through the technical corners. But when you compare the data I’m going way faster in the RS EVERYWHERE :D

Probably because going from mid engine to rear engine! How does the gt3 feel vs the gt4 on high rpm throttle lift coming into corners? Do you feel like the rear on the gt3 wants to rotate? Cant get over the engine noise... Love the sound of the gt4 as well.. Wish the gearing was shorter for the manual

Yep, I reserved both an .2 GT3RS and a 718 GT4/RS so I was sure I could get either one. .2 GT3RS was released first and Porsche made sure I had an allocation for it so I took it instead of the GT4.

I was thinking exactly the same the whole day!! No way with my car!! So 1) need the new qualifying spec special Michelin Cup R tires (of which Porsche for sure got an even more special one ;) 2) serious setup altering such as Manthey setup 3) empty track 4) crazy talent of Estre 5) no *** given if you crash 🧐😮

Yup, count about 20-25sec. extra for the long straight. Crazy to think that the official Porsche lap time is 6:46” 😱 But then again, that car was perfectly tuned and not straight out of the box. Also had the Cup R tires on it. But still! Without traffic I believe I could do about 7:10-15” with the stock setup.

I believe that time was with the GT2RS rather than the GT3. I think the GT3RS was more like 6.56". Still crazy fast, but you're not as far off as you think!

@@ArnageLM It's a race track. A circuit, like LeMans or Spa, races are held on the Nürburgring. Cars are testes there to set lap récords. Probably you are not even aware of that. What "public" road rules? No marked lanes, no yield signs, one way only, no red lights, no way to enter in it without paying... Your imaginary rules don't apply.

Also ich komm auf 7:50 min, von der ersten Brücke bei 0:52 min bis zur letzten Brücke bei 8:42 min, macht das 7:50 min, so wird ja auch offiziell die Zeit auf der Touristenstrecke gemessen.....

Nope sorry you are not correct. It’s Bridge To GANTRY timing which is generally taken as the correct timing standard for Touristenfahrten. Because Döttinger Höhe is used as slow down section you need to stop the timing at the Audi gantry seen @ 8:12”. That make for a 7:21”
