If you're new to airsoft AEGs like me, you've probably wondered: What's the difference between a 7.4v lipo battery and an 11.1v lipo battery?
In short:
The high voltage 11.1v battery should improve the rate of fire (rof) as it gives more power to the motor to run faster, but it should not improve the feet per second (fps) as that is primarily a function of the spring.
I give a live demo that demonstrates and verifies this to be the case.
NOTE: Do not put an 11.1v battery into your gun if it is not rated for it (specifically if it does not have a MOSFET).

Huge difference! Good info man, I've heard people claim a battery voltage affects FPS, but thats just silly logic. Its the same spring and gear action every time, the only difference is the speed, in which you clearly demonstrated!

Thanks man! Yea, I mean, I honestly didn't know any of this when I started, so once I learned how everything worked and it all made sense, I figured I would verify it and pass the info along. Hopefully this helps others wondering the same thing!

Look at novritsch shop he claims that his ssr15 has 1.6 joules with 11.1 and 0.9-1.4 with a 7,4

It seems the main difference is the ROF. Would this matter in CQB if we only do Semi-Auto?

A higher voltage battery makes the trigger more responsive as the motor can turn faster to fire the round, even during semi

Quick question ⁉️ if your gun is 9.6v nimh - 11.1v lipo ready could you also run a 7.4v lipo?.

I believe so, it will just be underpowered vs 11.1v lipo. I have done it in my own with no issues

I got a 6v battery pack in mine and the only upgrade I see available is a 7.2v . Is this small jump in voltage even gonna be noticeable or should I just leave it alone.

What's up man, I don't want to speak for everything, so you might want to search for your specific case, but yes, I do use 11.1v in mine where they recommended 7.4v and I haven't had any issues. Your mileage may vary.
