New generation NIMH batteries don't have the memory effect. I use NIMH because they are easier to maintain.

5:27 You say to unplug the battery if I have a MosFet. But I bought a upgraded handgun set from a webstore and they changed the gearbox, added a MosFet and solded the LiPo battery to the gearbox and I can't take the battery appart. Even changing the dead or blown up LiPo in the future gives me a headache now. I'm freaking out right now how to store the entire gun in a batterybag/box. (This is my first airsoft)

Cool video on the LiPo battery all my cords are attached to battery but blue one is sticking out is that a bad thing. The battery still works in gun and all.

How would you you go about airsofting in snow without messing up gear? I'm sure y'all know but in Colorado we're getting hammered by snow.

Just gotta keep the batteries/electronics dry. You can still play pretty effectively. Airsoft snipers with spring guns don't have this problem :P

I uses ATG graphene battery. You didn't mention ATG's & Li-ion batteries.

So airsoft gi says to keep lipo batteries full charged when storing so which one is it u say keep them half charge for storing they say fully charge idk what to do how am I suppose to be good if there's two different responses to the batteries

I have my eye on the FN Herstal licensed P90 at the moment, and there’s an option to get the LiPo battery as well. It’ll be my first real airsoft gun and I’m on the fence on whether or not I should shell out the extra cash for the extra LiPo battery. Should I go for it?

Do I need a mosfet to run a lipo. I’m going to go airsofting soon and last time I went airsofting I used a 9.6 and I hated my response and I want a quick fix for now. Still planning on getting a mosfet, new trigger, motor, etc.

Thank you for the information! Is there a negative effect on battery life for NiMh if I do not fully discharge the battery before recharging? Is it bad for battery life to only half charge the battery and use it? (like when I only have 1/2hr charge time) The charging instructions for one of my NiMh said to fully discharge and fully recharge 3-5 times for best battery life. BTW - I absolutely love playing at FAF! Great game scenarios, great maps, great staff!

Honestly good to follow the recommendations however NiMh are more forgiving if you left it with a (less than full) charge. Old technology like NiCads, you had to or else the "memory effect" was more pronounced.

Im thinking on buying the g&g cm16 "predator" for my first gun. It recommends a "9.6v 1600mAh small butterfly type" battery. Is that a good battery? If not,what should i get?

I have a 9.6v Valken NiMh battery, and is it bad if I charge it fully, then put it in a container, use it a little and then put it back in the container. Is that bad for the battery, or should I only charge it fully whenever I’m going to use it fully instead of only for a bit of time and then put it back where i keep it. Love your videos keep up the great work :)

NiMh batteries should be fully charged before use, then stored with charge in them - ideally fully or near-fully charged. They don't have a memory, so don't need to be fully discharged. Just keep it topped off and you should be fine to charge it up before use, or every six months or so in storage.

Hello. I just bought a VFC Avalon Saber CBQ. Evike recommends to use a 9.6 butterfly but in the comments everybody says to use Lipo 7.4 or 11.1 What battery should I use? I live in Miami so weather is hot

Similar performance to Lipos and same rules apply for charging, care, and maintenance. You also get different options for shapes and sizes. Not user friendly for newbies due to volatility.

Hello! i am attempting to jump into the airsoft community. so much i went to the closest air soft store. much review i looked to are those posted on amazon, as i couldnt find in other websites, to find they dont ship to my area! so there i go, the gentleman was really nice but kept staring at me like "so what do u want" even though i told him i dont know anything. i ended up picking up a bulldog m4 psi. with all the basic accessories. today i attempted to shoot around having it jam every 3 shots so my questions would b... with a nimh 9.6 1600mah battery, the person recommended 2 hours of charging. with fustration the troubleshooting began (how i found myself here) the battery states 3 hours of 'fast charging' but 13 hours of 'standard charging'? im not too sure what that means or if not charging enough will cause the rifle to not shoot/ jam? i read some places a low battery may cause 'the gear not to cycle.' ive looked up multiple forums and dont know what that means..? also i found i got a mid magazine n one u have to wind up. but since gun was jamming or not shooting (since at times it was one bb inside that just wouldnt shoot out) is it due to battery or am i such a noobie im blaming the mags? im hoping charging the battery will fix it since its only 2 days old. its been 2 hours since everything n i work the next 6 days 12 hr shifts so i doubt ill b picking it up till after. any advice would b appreciated until i can pick it up. as stated im new to the community so being able to speak with someone who knows there product has me as a customer!! n would b happy to make future purchases if ship to CA

Hi there! When you say the gun jams, do you mean the bb's get stuck in the barrel? When we say the gun "cycles", we're referring to the piston completing a shot successfully by moving back and forth once. ? First of all, make sure you're using high quality .20g bb's or heavier. I'd also make sure your charger is an autostop charger. You can tell this by if there is an LED light on the charger that turns a different color when the charge is complete and stops charging the battery. Most chargers shouldn't take more than an hour and a half to charge, but with an autostop charger you don't have to watch the clock. We do ship to CA. Welcome to the airsoft community! - George

@@FoxAirsoftStore yes the pellets gets stuck in barrel, 🔫 sometime 2 or 3. part of me (after 7 hrs of obsessive research) think that the piston may b broken as the bbs dont flush anymore to the hole almost if i have to give more force (so much my jamming rod/cleaner broke in half) for them to drop down the hole. [yes i found the pellets were not high quality but recommended by shop for practice...] n when i take out the mag theres 3 or 6 pellets falling out aside the ones in barrel. there is also talk of this 'hop-up' and it should b turned 'off'. im not sure what this 😅 means as it just scrolls up and down. also theres some push button next to the cock back thing im not sure if its for decoration cause i cant figure out its purpose and instructions r so vague its not even the same gun. i have a smart charger class 2 tenergy. i cant figure that 😕 even as simple as it sounds. the light is red then a very dim green. then when i plug 🔌 it back in..its red again for a good duration!..after it just turned green when looking 👀 up the rifle the reccomendation is a lipo battery 🔋 but even im not sur3?!

@@psuedonym8344 Using high quality bb's is definitely important! .12g bb's are known to cause issues with your airsoft rifle. It's normal for a few bb's to fall out when removing the mag, as they were able to feed from the mag and weren't inside the hop up yet. Turing the hop up dial one way will turn the hop up all the way on, and turning it the other way will turn it off. Here's a video with more info about the hopup: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nrSiisuYvbSdgKs.html&t The push button you mentioned typically is just for looks on most airsoft M4's. The 9.6v battery you have should work fine, however more advanced players usually upgrade to lipo batteries down the line. They offer increased performance, but are not as beginner friendly.

What if I put a nimh battery in a lipo gun? Like if I put a nimh battery in this gun: www.evike.com/products/78289/ would it hurt it?

A nimh battery will work just fine in most AEG's. Some electric guns are referred to as "lipo ready", but this does not mean that the gun only works with Lipo's. Just that the manufacturer thinks the gun will do fine with a higher output battery.

@@TrojanTroy It won't hurt although some MOSFETs do require a higher voltage battery otherwise the gun won't work at all. If you ever move into Lipos be sure to get the correct Lipo charger.
