Think You Know Wine features David Lawrason, John Szabo MS, Michael Godel and Sara d'Amato blind tasting via Zoom. In this episode, our host Renée Sferrazza guides our critics through the following wines:
Hidden Bench Estate Pinot Noir Unfiltered 2019
Château La Croix De Queynac 2018
Catena Lunlunta Old Vines Appellation Malbec 2018
This is meant to be entertainment as it's friendly coopetition between old colleagues and good friends. Hopefully it is educational as well, either by being right or being wrong.

John Szabo is just fantastic. He so often gets basically everything right. Immense palate and knowledge. A cool guy too.

Totally agree with John, with those low price wine, the characters ain't really obvious to point out, especially for those really international grapes, they can make so many different styles

Yes!!! As I said in the beginning Sara nails it down good!!! Sara is right to recognize higher altitude Salta wines from Argentina in fact there is a wine call Colome Altura Maxima, Malbec from Cafayate, Salta!!! This wine is made of grapes harvested at maximun altitudes of 3,110 meters, no other grapes from the entire world come from above, This wine is super concentrated, Casis and blue berries, Violets amd herbs, with a endless retro taste, suculent and round without sharp edges, high alcohol, but inperseptable in mouth, U$S 150.00 if you can get a hold of it in the States!!!

Sara was drinking her own Rosillon wine fron an ancient 100 years old vine, not a EU$100 French wine!!! As well as the Languedoc, Rosillon has good cheap wines, just like the Central Valley in California, masive production as well!!!

I am a huge fan of Wine Align (and John Szabo, who I believe is a GC, right). How can I attend these tastings live? Greetings from Portugal

Man, i cant imagine the fear, that someone gets, whos whole career centres around your taste and smell, and then getting covid. My smell recovered pretty fast, but my gfs smell is still a little compromised after 4 months.

70% of the varietals were wrong, they hide behind cheap wines when they are not, the only one who got 90% of a strain right was Sara ... they really dedicate themselves to this and get paid ... ???

They don't 'dedicate themselves' to blind tasting. It is just for fun and to educate people in wine. I think they do a fantastic job.

Cheap wines don't usually speak varietals or terroirs as they are often made according to some crowd pleasing (softer sweeter less acidic) international recipes
