The timing is absolutely terrible and the price hike is one of the largest between early access and full release I have seen. There has been a recent trend of Triple A companies overpricing and under delivering and indie games hitting the scene value-priced and focusing on gameplay over monetization systems. I am forced to admit that 7 days to die is one of the better survival games on the market which is a sad state of affairs for the survival genre. While I enjoyed the game for long enough that a time/cost analysis would show it was a good investment it's not in a state for full release yet and it will be launching into 1.0 in the current market and will be judged against current games and value propositions and in that environment it's going to get crucified and add to the fact that the game has been out and available for 10 years already and it sounds like it's going to be an absolute PR disaster. If this was 5 years ago maybe a $45 price tag would make sense but in a world where helldivers 2 costs $5 less than 7 days to die I feel like The Fun Pimps are setting themselves up for failure.

@@JeffersonRedeyes I do agree with that point. $45US is something hard to digest and I am not sure many will get it at that price cause people had 10 years to get it already and currently it is $6. I know it was also bundled once in Humble choice and I gave that key to a friend. Hell, even the 2 pack currently at full price is lower than the price that it will be.

1 thing that I missed in my 1st comment was the console version, those who got it got screwed over and I am not sure if that will stay that way due to the laws in Europe, Sony and Microsoft will have to do something to fix that or they could face litigation if what the CEO said is true that they can't update it and people will have to purchase again. Both consoles could just add a separate license automatically to the accounts that already own the game
