I love this video 🎉 my 4year old is level 2 or 3 autism. The way it transpired was pretty traumatic. He was born early in Colorado Springs and the hospital there just messed up surgeries and overmedicated him. It was a journey to discover last year his diagnosis. Our whole family dynamic has changed 😢but I love my little guy! I've often stayed up at night crying because I was terrified about what he would grow up and do what kind of quality of life will he have??? ❤Seeing this has really made me smile 😃 today. Ive been watching for at least 3years. You imspired me to get an rv and travel when my son got out of the hospital. Youve really helped me tremendously and i wanted to say Ty and happy 4th. 🎉🎉🎉

As a 14 years old female with autism I can relate a lot of people when they find out I’m autistic are like really you don’t look like your autistic because I mask a lot So this video really helps I love animals and connect better with them so if you get me started about horses you may not hear the end of it

i have asd but 2 years ago i was classed as non verbal so i started streaming to try to prove people rong and its helped with speaking but has made my socal skills worse lol

On the subject of denial until fairly recently many parents would have doubts if a second child is diagnosed as autistic because it used to be thought that autism was so rare (between 1 in 10,000 and 1 in 2,500) that it can’t possibly happen twice in the same family. This is probably why my parents were initially skeptical of my sister’s diagnosis when she was around thirteen or fourteen years old (back in the 1980s). I think my sister might have missed out on up to six months or even a year of speech therapy and occupational therapy (for example) because of this even after she was diagnosed. From what I remember of that time they pretty much thought that she was just copying some of the things that I did in order to be the center of attention. I think they only realized that she really is on the spectrum when they noticed just how much she tends to wander off. In addition they noticed some of her behaviors after seeing the scene with the fish sticks in the movie Rain Man that got them thinking and made it harder for them to continue denying. It probably looked to them like she was just copying me at first because she has always been level one. I’m level one now but at that time I was still level two.
