He joined Real at the wrong time. I think he could have turned it around with a bit more time. His replacement Solari wasnt anywhere near as good as him. I was really to see him lift the EL trophy with Sevilla and now they are challenging for the title. Really underrated manager

@@jhaych The most impress I have ever been with Pep was his stint at Barca. His time at Bayern and City, not so much. Bayern had been the undisputed top dogs in Germany long before Guardiola and after as well. And City had won the PL and domestic titles multiple times already shortly before Guardiola. One could argue that Guardiola took them to the next level, which is a fair point. But when compared to how Klopp took teams from mid-table mediocricity(maybe less so in Liverpool's case) to league champions in both Germany and England, it really does change one's perspective on the whole thing. Pep is undoubtedly a great manager. But Klopp's ability to achieve great things with how little he has had to work with makes his achievements a bit more impressive.

I would also add, as to why Klopp deserves first place over Pep, that during his time at Dortmund, after a few very successful seasons, he had a really bad season where the club seemed very close to relegation, and even on those difficult times, the club and the supporters stood by him and didn't sack him. At Liverpool there have been one or two moments of not great results, not necessarily bad, but maybe a bit below what was expected, where many other clubs would have decided to let him go, and still Liverpool stood by him. Pep has had his fair share of moments of big pressure, but I can't really think of a moment when he was realistically under any threat of being sacked. The fact that Klopp wasn't sacked at any of those difficult moments speaks about how the clubs and the supporters feel about him, and trust him even in the hard times, as they know he can rise from those adversities and go back to challenge the best out there for the big competitions.
@weetabixyeah

I would argue that makes Pep deserving of first place, as he has never put any club in a position to sack him, unlike Klopp who could have been sacked.
@TheNormalJuan

@@weetabixyeah well, it is a lot easier not getting sacked if you don't give the club any reason to consider sacking you, so not getting sacked EVEN when it could be reasonable for the club to do so is far more impressive and a bigger achievement.

@@jaydonn4664 this isn't a "best manager" ranking, it's a video about managers who haven't been sacked, and Klopp has had a longer career and has had more struggles in his clubs to deserve getting the first spot on this one. Also, yes, I'm a very proud Liverpool fan and I admire Klopp a lot, I think he is a great manager and an awesome guy, but I'm not "deluded", and I'm aware that Pep is a better manager all around. And FYI, his trophy cabinet has way more trophies because he has spent his entire career coaching clubs that win everything in their leagues, and City in particular can afford any player he wants to get. I mean, 100 million for Grealish? And they were willing to pay more for Kane? . Conte won lots of trophies at Juventus, but he's struggling to get anywhere near them with Tottenham. Doesn't mean he is a bad manager. As for Klopp, he doesn't care about building a ready squad full of already made superstars. He likes to recruit smartly and develop players into the role he wants them to play, and he is brilliant doing that. I have nothing against Pep, I respect him a lot, but give him a team like Liverpool, where not everyone is a superstar in their position and the club doesn't spend huge money every market window, and see how many trophies he would get. Klopp has won a Champions League with that team. How many has Pep won with "all the money in the world" City again?

Christian Streich from SC Freiburg should be on this list. The work he has done there over the past 10 years is simply amazing. And since he basically can decide by himself, if he wants to retire, he also will never get sacked. And yes, job security in Freiburg is pretty high in general, so Streich even kept his job, after he was relegated. Still he managed some of the best seasons in Freiburg history, so they didn't keep him out of pity... and he instantly got them back into promotion...

We wanted Gallardo for Uruguay too. He also rejected Flamengo. All to stay at River Plate. Its hard to find a man of his convictions in this day and age. Its almost unimaginable that someone breaks 1930s superstar Stábile's managerial record with neither club nor country, if Tabárez didn't do it then probably nobody will, but the reputation he has earned himself with and the titles he has won for the club, have probably made him unsackable. Hey Alfie, I just thought of a cracking idea for a video you could do on the turbulent recent history of Goztepe in the Super Lig. They’re one of the Super Lig’s most well supported clubs (a bit like a Newcastle United, Sunderland or Strasbourg if you may). In the 2001/02 season, they finished seventh in the top flight, however from 2002 to 2008, they were relegated five times in six seasons, due to their inability to reduce their outstanding debt which resulted in the football club being banned from signing new players during that time. In August of 2007, a business based in Istanbul, vowed to take them back to the top flight making them one of the top five clubs in the country, but they were met with lots of suspicions from the fan base, and then they handed over the ownership to another bloke called Mehmet Sepil in 2014. Anyway, they’re back in the Super Lig as a solid mid table/weaker top half team. Why am I bringing all this up? Because apparently Abramovich is looking to possibly buy the club himself, after being sanctioned from the UK. It’s a crazy crazy story and may you could look into this, not to mention, they are not only a rare example of a club that is considered a neighbourhood club, as well as the fact that they’ve played in 3 different stadiums since 2011, but also in 1969, they became the first Turkish football team to play a semi-final of a European competition.

A comment about Gallardo's job so far. You said it's weird that in a club as big as River Plate it's extrange that he was not sacked 8 years in before winning a league title. Here in Argentina, Libertadores trumps everything, and River was known to be more of a league title team rather than a Cup team. He changed the mentality and the outside view on it's own. So yeah, he didn't win a league title, but with some national cups and international minor trophies in between 2 Libertadores and 1 final lost, he's never been in doubt. Only time I remember was during 2016, poor level and a bad league and cup. But winning derbys is another way to stay in charge too. Anyhow, he'll probably leave this year or next. And we will be devastated

Guardiola and Klopp are different yet great, so much praise to both. But you have to say, in the air of management, when you have the "free spirited" klopp and the "wise man" Guardiola... as a player... you would play your best more often under a free spirit, these are kids remember.

Lol, we - Bayern - got him to win the Champions League, not to win domestic titles. We wanted European silberware and after inheriting an excellent victorious squad from Heynckes - underrated manager -. Pep clearly failed to do so. He left a bitter aftertaste at Bayern. Since then, I am having serious doubts about his managerial skills. Good to beat up small teams.Unable to win the big games what we got him for. He did his job, but he was arguably a failure for us.

I think many coaches could have a clean sheet for sackings if they didn't have massive payouts. It's fairly obvious most of them down tools once there is a breakdown in relations until their chairman sacks them and hands over a huge sum of money for the pleasure.
