Another is Train Driver. Depending on who you work for you can earn upto £90k with overtime. But £70k is more realistic with a small amount of overtime working for the higher paying companies. Plus free travel for family, 35 days paid leave , private pension., discounted international rail travel (£79 return to Bruge is what I paid) All training provided free of charge. Competition is high, entry tests are hard but don't let that stop you!

I’ve been a self employed electrician for 15 years, I’d say he’s bang on the money, because of the shortage there isent actually that much difference between salaried and self employed these days, some people like me don’t like having a boss and prefer the flexibility of self employment though. With Gas being banned from new build from 2025 the futures definitely electric.

This is a great video. However, out of all of them, I'd say the Electrician one seems the one with more opportunities based on transferable skills. I mean, if you're working for one company and got fired (worst case scenario), you could use those skills in another company instantly. You could even pick up work on your own. With sales, it is mainly commission-based and your salary will depend on the cost of the product. I look at it like this, if tomorrow you had to get up and move to another country, richer and poorer, which skill/education would more likely get you work?

having done a few of these roles the only issue I have with this video is to even remotely achieve near 100k your looking at being in the top 5 percent of scorers in your chosen field in the uk. You will mostly be sat around 30k in the estate agency/recruitment consultancy/high end car retailing fields. Start your own business doing these and get a few more passive cash flows on the go and your on to the more top end of what your saying people can achieve through these roles.

@@ismailakbar6449 Get a trade lad. I’m 19 but was an 18 year old college dropout. Spent months researching and debating which career path to choose and had interviews for business administration and estate agency traineeship positions lined up but ended up choosing a plumbing and gas engineering course. Aside from the fact that getting out and about on a daily basis fixing and installing things is in itself highly gratifying there are many other reasons why a trade is the best option. With how much contemporary society is evolving, jobs in sales and the tertiary industry in general are never as secure as you’d think. Estate agents and salesman in some companies are already being replaced by automated online systems. ‘Cutting out the middle man.’ But with a trade you’ll never run out of work, you’re extremely employable and the transferrable skills once you’ve got bearings are insane. Never going to not be needed. Also you can eventually go self employed and do private work, meeting new people everyday who want and respect your services and travelling across the country when doing so. You could also go abroad with a trade and still have work.

I have ,to be honest if your 20 go learn a trade you will have to work hard for cheap to gain experience until you become qualified , gain a few years experience then leave and go self employed , it ll take you 3-6 years to learn and gain experience but you ll end up on 200 plus a day probley even 250 a day by then. But you will work on dusty building sites , cold in winter , can be grimey. If I was 20 again I'd say be a policeman or firefighter, you only have to work 3 years to get a pension, so if you started at 21 you stop at 51, then you get a cushy little job as private secruity with the background you have or concierge etc , plus working for a government related jon entitled you to so many benefits it's well worth it. If you think you ll lose friends because it then they ain't your friends to start with. You ll make much better friends with good morals with the added perks of having connections. Get some driving experience , keep a clean record, become a chauffeur driver for a rich family advertising for private driver , they always pay well and tip well with good perks. These are the roads I would advise to go down that are easily achievable for a comfy life.

Look at it from a different perspective. A degree was a goal that you achieved. You explain to the employer the challenges you faced, how it changed you as a person, the skills you gained that are transferable to the role - time management, discipline, positive outlook, etc.... Say things other candidates wouldn’t. Value the hard work you put in and how you love continued learning. When they ask you for any questions always ask: from my cv, what was it that really stood out. Without realising they will then tell you what drew them to you and that’s what you talk about the most. Put them on the back foot; make them think. They will respect you for it.
