I've found that one of the biggest fears of emerging leaders is looking incompetent. This is where you're worried you won't be able to do your job or that your boss will regret hiring you. The reality is, you could be contributing to this outcome. You could be making a number of leadership mistakes that make you look incompetent.
Some of these leadership mistakes are because you don't want to stand out or be too visible. Others are because you've just developed bad habits. Regardless, becoming aware of behaviours or actions that are holding you back is the first step in looking more competent. Then you can start to overcome or avoid these leadership mistakes so you can look more competent as a leader.
