"I am the mistress of my own destiny." I love that. I purchased a Westfalia in 2019 and I roam around during the summers, alone. The number of people who are surprised by this is amazing. I finally decided that I was tired of waiting for that elusive partner to do stuff with. I love the freedom of being solo.

I have only traveled solo inside the US but I can completely agree with many of your points here. It is very freeing to wake up every day and completely set my own agenda. I also save a good bit of money because I don't find the need to eat at restaurants for every meal. A good snack or leftovers is good enough for me.

I love travel. We love meeting solo travelers. We have enjoyed talking and having dinner with solo travelers when we are on a cruise. If I had to travel alone, I would.

Great advice! I do like traveling alone. In a group I am always the one to do the heavy planning for us. It’s nice to just go by the seat of your pants alone. Nobody’s feeling get hurt. lol

I have traveled solo outside of the US. Mostly Europe (and a solo trip to Peru) for extended periods of time were amazing experiences. Kept it simple and enjoyed the freedom of deciding what I wanted to do every day. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

You make some good points here. I like to travel on tours when travelling overseas or on holidays because I am terrible at getting out of the house/hotel in the morning. So with a tour, I get to see and do things I would totally miss on my own. But I do give myself rest times within my holiday. I will do a tour for a week or two then have a week rest by the beach and prepare for the next tour by doing my washing and getting my hair coloured, then I'm ready to go on another tour for a week or two.
