All good points. I only have a dozen models in my display case. It's most important to buy cars that you have a connection with. Whether you've owned similar vehicles, dreamed of owning, or idolised. But even then, I've received highly detailed models of a dream car, and simply realised looking at it, that I had no connection to it. If it doesn't bring you joy, then its not worth keeping, which leads to regret. I also only buy a couple every now and then, you'll appreciate each model more that way.

Buyers remorse is massive. Just pace yourself. It's far too easy to click buy online, but if you have a local store/diecast shows you can attend, it makes it way more fun over time to see in person and collect if possible. Buying online is fine, but you have to exhibit a lot of self control.

The number 3 and number 4 i've seen a lot of because they're reason was no diecast brands are doing it. Example: Street Weapon Ken Block Ford Pickup

Mistake #1 jumping into a whole bunch of scales. Stick with one or two scales.

I used to collect Hot Wheels and there was so many mainlines and premiums to collect (and I only focused on JDM stuff). I found INNO64 and despite being more expensive, there's less of them, easier to display and much better quality than Hot Wheels. I didn't research them - I picked INNO64 based on my personal criteria :)

Hot wheel premium is soo overpriced in Ukraine. I could buy an entry level collector car with some money that they sell the prems here. Or just buy a bunch of "mainline" castings or multipacks. All of this is better than just getting one premium car that will appear in mainline eventually

What are some of the best websites to purchase from? I usually always use ebay but I'm sure I can budget a better deal for the same car through another website.

I frequently purchase from Amiami. No issues at all. And you don't pay upfront for preorders. You pay when it's ready to be shipped.
