Lies: 1) Saving in a bank account, 2) buying a home is better than renting, 3) working hard will make you rich, 4) I am making more now, so it's time for me to spend more, 5) talking about money is rude, 6) spending on luxuries is a bad thing, 7) people like me can never be financially prosperous. Amazing stuff! Especially #7.

Number 2 is not a lie tho. Being old and not have a house then the struggles come along and regrets. So in the long term it is better buying a house than just renting. Obviously depending on the contract regulations of renting, but overall, one is better than another 🏡✨
@misshoneynevercame4832
@misshoneynevercame4832 3 жыл бұрын
@@Lilydee I agree that buying is overall better than renting but it depends who's buying. You're going to have to pay rent all your life while you could pay off a mortgage and own a house and leave it for your children so they don't have to pay rent. However it all depends on location and personal preferences. If you have a low income and can't afford expensive home repairs you might be better of renting. Also if you like to move a lot or don't know if you want to stay in one place for 10+ years it could be better to rent. Sometimes home owners need to stay in one place when the housing market is down.

@@Lilydee Your also not factoring in the fact that buying a home comes with maintenance, it's not just paying off your mortgage and living luxuriously anything that goes wrong in that home once you own it YOU have to come out of pocket and pay for. The amount of elderly peoples homes I've been in due to work who have these massive homes that they bought when they were younger who can't afford to maintain it is heartbreaking.

Yup. If they taught us all to be millionaires, where would they get their supermarket workers/cleaners/receptionists/bin men/etc from. The system NEEDS vast numbers of us to be trapped, but that doesn't mean it has to be YOU. Learn to be financially literate (eg, the stuff Patricia teaches) and change your life for GOOD! Also, stop following foolishness about the latest trainers, etc. That's all part of the entrapment strategy.......

Right? And the rich teach their kids from young so they know and continue the legacy, it's how old money keeps going centuries after the initial fortune was made.

maybe start off using an index fund or a stocks and shares ISA, they’re lower risk as they’re made up of lots of different companies so it’s not putting all your eggs in one basket. there’s always the potential for it to lose value but if you invest for the long term it’ll typically increase in value x

@jackiedelvalle
@jackiedelvalle 3 жыл бұрын
Of course essential. But back in the day people would try to have 10s of 1000s in the bank, and more. If the money is constantly devaluing, that no longer makes sense. A few multiples of your monthly outgoings should cover emergencies, maybe even less if you find a way to withdraw from investments that isn't punitive???? Patricia, ideas for future.

it really depends on you personally and what you are comfortable with. but ideally you should be able to have 3-6 months of your expenses saved, incase something happens and you don't earn any income. some people like saving more or less depending on how financially secure they feel. but above that you can invest the money.

She’s in the UK and 40/50k is actually an overestimate of what most nurses make.Closer to £24k at starting.

Bc they need lots of people to not do so well. Which millionaires do you see wiping bums, working in Sainsbury's or collecting bins? Answer: NONE!!! If we were all super successful and rich there'd be no one to do all the dross work that society needs. But that doesn't mean YOU specifically have to self sacrifice. Let others do it. Aim to be rich and free. Don't let them distract you chatting about the latest this and the latest that. CHANGE YOUR LIFE, PEOPLE!

Nurses don't make 50K in the UK btw. They're lucky to make 30.

Workers in the care profession (gruelling, backbreaking work) earn A LOT less than that, so you're right, nurses ARE lucky.....

@@jackiedelvalle Nurses and carers do similar work, both are undervalued and underpaid. Both should be paid more. It's not a competition.
